The arc reactor helps electro maintain his human form. That’s why he says you’ll never take this away from me. He wants to be human. Not a being made of pure electricity like you see in the power lines scene. At some point he gets the reactor and becomes human.

I know some people are a bit iffy about Electro using an arc reactor. I think it holds some merit actually. When you're a villain you don't really care who made the tech you found, you just care if it's any good at what you want it to achieve and it seem that's what the Arc Reactor is for electro. Secondly if this Electro was plucked into the MCU from ASM universe he could be using it to keep himself together as he did kinda blow up in the ASM2. The way I see it, as long as it makes sense in a narrative perspective I'm sure it will be good.

@@firstlast9846 I mean it seems just from the trailers that a lot of people are getting depth, Electro certainly, Probably Doc Ock and Goblin, and I mean Sandman had to die somehow after SM3. Marvel has been getting really good with handling character development in large movies, I mean Eternals was criminally underrated and handled a large ensemble cast incredibly well, giving each character incredible characterization in short amounts of time, and this movie will be able to do even better because A. Not every single character is original, and B. Literally every character has been developed at least partly in past movies

Maybe Electro is the MCU Version. That would explain the changes in appearance and his lightning. It would also explain why he uses an exoskeleton power suit rather than natural power, and why he has a more ‘engineer/construction worker’ look to him. Plus he doesn’t look like how human Max Dillon did in TASM2.

I hope they explain Electros bluelessness as the electricity feeling "different". We don't need science just a fun little nod. I just don't want him being another variant. I'm also glad he goes for the arc reactor. It's an amazing source to punch up his powers. Hoping they pull a Vulture and rob DoDC or go to Tinkerer. The nanobots Ock has are from the Iron Spider. Period. No question.
