it would have been helpful to see the demo with juice wearing a helmet to see the interface between the vest and the helmet.

If I where to buy this vest the first thing I would do Is take a Dremel with an abrasive disk and carefully cut that "safety disk" off. Murphy's law being what it is I would either forget to disengage it or the thing would get bumped on safe right before I had an accident and not go off. Other than the "safety disk" it looks like a much nicer design than the Helite especially for hot humid climates.

@Spidi What the heck is a safety disk for???? You've got a lash which you can always disconnect from motorcycle!

The back of that jacket looks badass. It will be interesting to see if this style of airbag catches on in North America.

How does the neck protection for the Spidi and Helite compare to a neck brace in the event of a crash?
@RevZilla7 жыл бұрын
The airbag systems provide similar protection to a neck brace while also providing chest and back protection. -DrewZilla

Could you also show installing/replacing the CO2 cartridge?

I screwed mine in softly until i felt resistance to turn then I felt it pierce the cap so then it allowed me to keep screwing it all the way in until it got tight again . But it doesn’t specify anywhere how to install this cartridge . I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right

visually, this looks like it deploys noticeably slower than the helite vest. is there a measurable difference between the two?
@RevZilla7 жыл бұрын
The Spidi is less than 200ms, while the Helite is about 100ms, so it's a slight difference. -DrewZilla
@PlayJewel5 жыл бұрын
Spidi one has a much bigger and better neck. Thats where it takes the extra 100ms. But a time of 200ms is still just 0.2seconds.

I want a wear the airbag vest under a textil jacket,but a lil bit bigger than my size.Can i do it? I think the airbag will turn on either .
@RevZilla4 жыл бұрын
No, you cannot wear this vest underneath a jacket. Instead, look at the new Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 System, which you can wear underneath a textile jacket. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/Spidi_vs_TechAir5

How does it fit together with the hump on a race suite? How does it perform during high speed runs. Does it catch the wind and flap?
@RevZilla7 жыл бұрын
While it can fit with small race humps, it isn't ideal for race suits. At high speeds, it will flap in the wind. -DrewZilla
@GarrettHoyos7 жыл бұрын
I've been riding 50 miles a day at speeds up to 90mph and only on a few occasions has it flapped or moved up on me. It fits nice and snug & I highly recommend it for high speeds.

Helite now has the GP Air vest which is designed to go around the race hump and be tight fitting with stretch panels.

I wear it for two years now and it fits tight and doesnt flap, even at 150 km/h, highly recommendable!!

How would either an airbag vest like this or the Spidi Neck DPS Airbag Vest work with wearing a backpack? I already own an Alpinestars GP Plus R Perforated Leather Jacket and I'm strongly considering purchasing one.
@RevZilla6 жыл бұрын
A backpack and backpack straps could likely limit the airbags from fully inflating, so I would not use any airbag vest with a backpack. -DrewZilla

Isn't this a licensed version of the Hit Air lite. The hiviz/reflectivity is nicer, but the bag itself looks the same.

anxiousappliance I have a mesh hit air that uses that same attachment system. To me it is not as strong as the helite attachment and it is more complicated. When I bought mine helite did not make a mesh. I also have a helite vest. I wear the back protector in the vest, so when I take it off to go inside somewhere I don't have to have the protector ruin the line of the jacket.
@PlayJewel7 жыл бұрын
No it is not, the design is much different, and spidi has in-house safety r&d and testing lab. Spidi made world’s first airbag vest in 1983 which was the neck airbag vest they still sell. this jacket is the more developed version of it, its the best motorcycle airbag vest u can buy right now
