Spiers claiming that the media thought Rangers were using EBTs properly which is fair enough. However, they already knew that the DOS scheme had been used incorrectly, which surely raised questions. Not only that if you looked at Rangers' accounts which got published each year and the players they had in their squad, it was obvious that they could not afford them in their current financial situation. Which again, makes you question the eligibility of EBTs. Don't get me wrong, Spiers, was one of the better and more critical of the journalists in Scotland.
