Unfortunately Spike did a lot of really questionable... or straight out horrible things in his past, some of which Xander and the rest of the Scoobies were privy to. In the instant with the flowers, Spike was trying to be genuine, but lets be fair, a few nice things wont take away from all the horrible things you did before. Don't get me wrong I loved spike, but all I'm saying is that I can see were Xander was coming from in thinking the worst from him, that he was trying to be manipulative and take advantage of Buffy's weakened state of mind while she's grieving her mother. Its like a serial killer suddenly having a change of heart and deciding that he will no longer kill people... are you going to be quick to trust him or be nice to him? Spike was pretty much a serial killer before he fell in love, so was Angel I know, but correct me if I'm wrong, Spike did not have his soul back at this point, Angel did when they met him, so as far as anyone knew Spike could go back to killing at any moment.

Angel has never been more powerful than Spike. Most of their fights are pretty even and end in a draw, I can't remember a single time Angel won decisively. Spike killed two slayers and would have killed Buffy in their first encounter had it not been for Joyce. Angelus faced a slayer who was in love with him and hesitant to deal the final blow, and still couldn't kill her. The two finally had an all out brawl in season 5 and Spike won.

YES! Thing about ships. If ppl feel a ship is soulmates that’s fine. But I hate weak arguments that say “just because”. If Bangle fans say “soul mates”, they must back it up. @Brilleetoile2 жыл бұрын
@@lessismore8533 Another thing I noticed about Spike is the fact that strangely Joyce never seemed "scared" of him ?? Like, everytime she'd meet Angel she was always wary, but when it came to Spike ? Nothing. Actually, she even looked like she was amused by him lol. Bangel wasn't realistic at all. Buffy always acted like a child around him (which she was of course), she was constantly on the edge, overwhelmed. Whereas with Spike she seemed more like herself. On another note, as much as I'm a hard Spuffy fan, let's be real, Buffy could never marry a vampire. A relationship with a vampire can't work. While you'll grow old he/she wouldn't.

Spike didn't fight to get his soul back. He was looking for a way to get around the chip and the African demon misinterpreted his "Restore me to what I once was" and gave him a soul he didn't want instead.

the greatest character ever....if only it wasnt for that bathroom scene

I hate that they killed off Joyce but it made sense because Buffy will never become fully dependent on herself, and take care of Dawn, if Joyce is still there. And also Giles had to leave, and Buffy had to figure out how to become slayer without her watcher's guidance on the battlefield, and life!

Yes because everyone who's parents stay alive never become independant of their parents.

Also buffy wasn't dawns parent i.e it wasn't her job to take care of her. The watchers are supposed to guide the slayer on battlefield thats pretty much why they exist, its the rest of life that was buffys domain.

I’m still very angry that Angel stormed up to Joyce and Spike and ruined their nice conversation. So rude. He was not invited. I hate people that just have to make everything about them.

I started watching Buffy for the first time, recently finished it and Xander always reminded me of Chandler, even in looks and mannerisms! Maybe in an alternate universe, Xander/Chandler and Spike are bffs 😂

I honestly loved their friendship. Granted, Joyce would've fully staked Spike after the end of season 6 if she had been alive.

If she was alive, it would have never happened in the first place...
@mandipandi3038 ай бұрын
@GosieKin You're sooooooo right! Buffy being with Spike was a result of her depression in coming back from heaven and not only not having a solid support system but also having a huge amount of responsibility placed on her shoulders. That likely wouldn't have been a problem if Joyce were alive. I don't think Spike would've attempted to r*pe Buffy if they hadn't had a previous sexual relationship, and I don't think they'd ever have had one if Buffy wasn't harming herself with Spike because she had no other way to cope with her increasingly stressful situation. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

It doesn't matter if they were friends or not, still don't think Joyce would have ever have approved of him as a suitor for Buffy. She'd have preferred a human like Riley or, if it had to be a vampire, then probably Angel but Spike? She'd never want him for her daughter. I can tell because when Buffy told her and Willow about Spike's crush on her, Joyce was really worried about it.
@nessyness54472 жыл бұрын
Mm maybe not soulless spike, but souled spike would be another thing i think.
@jimmy2k4o3 ай бұрын
When Angel didn’t have a soul he came up to Joyce and might have killed her. With a soul he’s outraged that spike is with her and wants to protect her. If he knew that Joyce knows he’s a vampire with no soul, socialized with him before, feels safe alone with him. All despite meeting him for the first time by axeing his head to protect Buffy. She still and always has liked and trusted an unsouled spike more than a souled Angel. Why? Because Angel was with Buffy and hurt her, and spike wasn’t. A parent will never forgive the paramour of their child if they’ve hurt them.
