Spike hit the nail on the head. As Jordan got older, he adapted his game to be more cerebral, using his brain to win games rather than just his athleticism. Not nearly enough credit is given to him over how smart he was.

@@Se0420_ Last 3 titles was MJ using his turn around jumper, or going up for the dunk tucking it then reverse lay up'ing it in. When he 1st came in the league you let him shoot wide open, or he flew past you and dunked

Spike doesn't get enough props for propelling Michael as a cultural icon because those sneaker commercials he did with Jordan back in the day really propelled his brand more than any single thing he did that was not on the court.

so much things standing out from this docuseries.. to name a few: 1. work extremely hard to win 2. there is always a cost of being a champion that you must be willing to deal with 3. always find a reason to motivate yourself, including creating something out of nothing 4. do not think about missing a shot that you have not yet taken 5. always perform the best every night because someone might not have seen you perform before and they are paying to see you perform 6. if you signed a contract, you have to perform and finish it no matter if you find your contract unfair in the middle of it 7. stay in your lane and do not meddle with other people's lane (I play basketball not politics) 8. if you have the will you can win 9. you need support to be a winner 10. when you order pizza from Utah, you do not share it

Or Its better to say, if you're in another state playing for the finals against their team, never order a pizza or any food that will be delivered to you as its safer to cook or prepare a meal fo9r yourself instead, IF...you are MJ who's not giving others the chance to get a championship.

"3. always find a reason to motivate yourself, including creating something out of nothing" - this one is the one that fascinated me the most...he basically ALWAYS found a way to motivate himself and elevate to another level..even creating something in his head...he was so driven...impressive.

Jordan had great moments in championship situations but he also had sustained greatness game after game for years. Thousands of fathers brought their sons to watch Jordan play and were never disappointed. In his prime decade if he scored just 22 pts he would be asked a hundred times after the game,"what was wrong? are you sick? are you injured??" He was so consistently great, he always put on a show and gave the fans what they came for.

Being fortunate enough to meet him & cook him breakfast in 1997, you can literally feel his presence when he walked in the room. It was real alright! The GOAT entered & quickly left, had to chase him down for that autograph which I fortunately still have framed in a Jordan plaque! ✌️

It was great to see it was MJ's Dad who was his inspiration and hero. People wanted to dismiss Lavar Ball from his sons when MJ did everything for his Dad. I do remember seeing his Father at many games growing up. 2020 has showed us who MJ really is starting with him speaking about Kobe's death and now this documentary. I loved that the fact that he then made another older black man who was his security guard a 2nd Father figure who someone to talk to. I salute him for that.

They could have shown more of the 1995/96 season, more footage of the regular season and the playoffs plus a little more interviews. Would have loved another couple episodes. A blooper reel of those they were talking too. You just want more, hope he wins an award for this documentary.

I don't believe in the whole GOAT thing, you can only be the best of your time and different players playing different positions are hard to compare. But Jordan was the best player for longer than anyone else in the past 50 years, with maybe Kareem near his level. From 3 years before he won the first championship, thru the first 3 peat, even during the 2 years of his first retirement and thru the second 3 peat and beyond there was no debate at all, everyone knew he was the best player. In Lebron's early years Kobe was thought to be 1A and there was debate among LA fans and Lebron fans, and in the last 4 years there is debate as to whether Lebron is still the best player in the NBA. In Jordan's era there was no debate. Bill Russell was the best player on the best team for a long time but at the time he was not always hailed as definitely the best player in the league hands down.

Faces better competition at his position. From Rusell, Wilt, Hakeem etc etc etc . Won Finals MVP in a losing team. Won Championship in different teams. Jordan cant even won without Pipen 😂

@ShogunX11 4 жыл бұрын
@@xrizbira 5 of Kareem's rings came from the effort of Magic and Worthy. Especially Magic who subbed for him in game 6 of the finals and won FMVP at age 20. Kareem definitely is in the discussion because of his own accolades but by the 80s his skills were diminishing. Hype? Have you even watched a game with MJ or you just throwing shade
