Fun Fact: Wing Chun has no defensive techniques. It's entirely offensive style with the logic that you shouldn't let your opponent hit you and try to end the fight as soon as possible. It's defensive capabilities are during your own attacks. Intercepting and parrying while attacking.

@@Phantom-Guy It's worth noting that Wing Chun is a martial art and like any other can be mixed with others. You can take its direct capabilities and apply them on top of others such as judo for example. Just like adding Tae Kwon do that excels only at powerful kicks but is weak to close proximity and grabs with a martial art that uses punches and defense to cover that weakness.

I like to say that Wing-Chun is like more of a yoga than martial art . As they don't work in real life situation. The only thing works is Boxing,Muay Thai,Karate,Judo etc. not chinese martial art .

Wing chun was created by a woman for women in the first place, SPECIFICALLY for a smaller, weaker person to defend themselves against someone bigger & more aggressive. It AIN'T meant to be a fighting art for fighters in the first place. If you bothered looking deeper than just the surface, you'd see how goddamn simplified the art is compared to most Chinese martial arts out there, again, SPECIFICALLY because it's meant to be effective & efficient. & Btw, listing boxing, muay thai & karate as effective martial arts for the streets, while calling the Chinese arts wholly ineffective, i guess you've never heard of Sanda before.

So, I remember when there was talks of Wing Chun getting represented in Tekken initially. At first I thought maybe Namco might not want to include it due to the first Ip Man film's story but I later came across a tweet where Harada said it was stated in a will that Wing Chun never be taught to Japanese. All I can say is wow, I'm so glad Namco decided to incorporate it into their series, and to have it represented by an African American to really nail the point home that anyone can learn martial arts and become a martial artist. I'm Chinese but I wonder how many people in China are / were offended by this character design. Hong Kong cinema has some really great stuff. I would highly recommend watching Operatio Scorpio for those who haven't even heard of it. Trust me, it's awesome.

Thanks for the comparison. This makes more clear that the moves of Leroy are largely copied from the movies. Not sure if you know, the so-called Wing Chun moves in the movies are not exactly Wing Chun. At least at 0:49 the move is from Hung Ka(洪拳) and 0:33 is clearly not a Wing Chun kick. Moreover A Wing Chun practitioner will never make such a dangerous post in 1:39. And the move at 2:28 is for counter attacking the front kick, not deliberately grasp the leg.
