NOTE: This SpaceSim preset exaggerates the mass the distance and the size of the planets so we can see them in reality the proto planetary disk would be MASSIVE and don´t make such big planets this exxageration is needed because it would require an insane amount of time to make very very little progress aside from that it is very realistic and simulates the formation of the planets pretty well PD:You can make the history not dissapear if you go to the settings button in setup you can increase the Max cache memory (don´t make it higher than your RAM) or you can save it to the disk (click on "save to the disk" and click in always) i recommend making the Max cache memory higher and click on "when unloading" where it says "save to the disk" this will make so that if you run out of memory the history will be stored in your PC (this will take space so when you are done delete the history file)

our solar system is an anomaly generally gas giants for closer to the star and drift even closer.

It's actually not that common to get gas giants far from the star, "hot Jupiters" are much more common, some binary star systems also form this way with the hot giant also achieving fusion as it grows.

I think you can decrease the accuracy of the simulation a little bit without really compromising the results much and it still looks as realistic but runs much faster, or increase the speed the simulation runs at the cost of accuracy.

To increase the time you need to go to the settings and scroll down and you will see cashing and you will need to put that up to how every much you want it to.(For the very long videos you should do 5,000-10,000 or more if your simulating a lot.)

Make the solar system with the earth. you just need to collide 50 to 75 earths then add planets with any kind of velocity and distance and don't make planet's too close they will just start to Strech and rip apart from the Roche limit (also click twice to follow an object or planet.)

Interesting, there should be a setting to allow for a longer recording, I’m sure the dev will let you know but I know for sure you have enough RAM hehe, or maybe your recording is long for the game and your usage is really high 🤷🏼‍♂️

most game engines with this kind of feature have a max cache of around 20 GB to store the data to… saving data for 5 million particles for about 10 minutes easily reaches this value .. so the oldest data gets replaced with the 2nd oldest (loopback it is called i believe) Overriding the value is possible but can cause severe issues like crashes/bsod and reduced disk lifecycles
