Fun trivia about this movie: The makers of the 90s X-Men cartoon were big fans of the comics so they filled the show with references, so much so that Bryan Singer binged the entire show to prep for the movie. He also banned comics from the set, but Hugh Jackman wanted to read comics for better inspiration of his character, so a production assistant named Kevin Feige snuck him comics on set.

And if I recall he had Hugh had no idea what a Wolverine was and thought it was some sort of mystical wolf creature. No one bother to tell him. And Hugh mimicked his mannerism off of wolves. 6:30 that's basically "Bundle of sticks with an axe in it, Mr Moustache incorporated"-ism 101. If you convince everybody they're better than one other group of people, then you'll be able to convince the "superior group" to work together, preferably under you so you get more power. Which is probs why Magneto seems so justified in his hatred of humanity, given his past with "Mr Moustache"-ism And using Ozymandias was a good example for this same concept, except he made everybody hate nonexistent aliens rather than one arbitrarily chosen human group
@shorewall3 ай бұрын
It's human nature. You can only get humans to work together if you have a common enemy. If there is no common enemy, then humans easily realize that they are each other's competitors, and there is infighting. If there are two people, they will compete. If there is 3, then 2 will team up against the 1. Hitler scapegoated the Jews, Stalin scapegoated the Bourgeoisie, USA scapegoated the Japanese and Nazis, then the commies. When the USSR fell, there was no reason for NATO, and the West felt aimless. Now we have Russia and China as potential threats, but not everyone is on board, so there isn't as much unity.

Wolverine was even slated to appear in Spider-Man 2 and Cpt America the first Avenger, Tobey Spider-Man had a planned cameo in Incredible Hulk using webs to save civilians from falling debris in the final act, and even the X-men getting a shout out in the alternate take of the iron man 1 post credit scene. Guess when marvel was still around through different studios they saw that playing ball would be beneficial for everyone.
