The real reason vampires don’t have a reflection is that mirrors were made out of silver. Silver is a "pure" metal. So, a vampire would be able to take a photo. Modern mirrors are backed by aluminum, which would allow vampires to have a reflection.

This movie has a great message for kids ❤. Instead of Dracula learning not to be racist, Dennis had to change into a vampire for Dracula to accept him. Dracula didn't need to change, Dennis, the child, needed to change for Dracula to like him.

I know right? Imagine this as the ending: Dracula's father kidnaps Dennis. Mavis and Johnny, fed up with Drac's meddling, tell him he's caused enough trouble and make him stay at the hotel, with everyone else heading out to search frantically for the boy. Dracula, who has been struggling with human technology and calling it stupid throughout the movie, realizes that Dennis has, say, a phone on him that can be tracked with GPS or sth and manages to do so, saving the day in a human-way, thus learning to appreciate humanity and admit they have their own ways to do things that aren't necessarily worse, just different. As a bonus, when Dennis is located in Dracula's father's cave, the kid has 100% won over the great-grandpa and they're caught having fun together, human hatred be damned. Heck, if you still want Dennis to have vampire powers in the next film, you can make the final shot of the film be him with a big smile, everybody doing a funny double-take at his sudden fangs. As an aside, in the scene where Mavis and Johnny come back and Dracula's exposed as having put Dennis in danger, JOHNNY should've been the one to blow up and straight-up punched Dracula, because chill dude or not, monster fan or not, he's a DAD and even if normally scared of Dracula, he would NOT accept his son being put at risk. Would've been some much appreciated depth for the guy, whom the movies sadly turn into less and less of a character as they go on.

I love how they were talking about how insane some of the animation is because one of my fav posts of tumblr talks about how groundbreaking the animation is. To make 3D models so fluid takes an incredible amount of skill and hard work, and it's all so unheard of that Sony is apparently naming the blurring technique the Genndy blur after the director, and it's going into the Hotel Transylvania movies. As the post says: "Somebody once described the Hotel Transylvania franchise as 'like seeing Lamborghini making a clown car,' and honestly, that’s kind of what it’s like".
