I think jojo needs to acknowledge that her mom and her joined KNOWING what the experience would be like. I sort of agree with her personally in that a teacher being blunt with me doesn't really bother me as much as it seems to bother other people. But her and her mom knew that is what they were signing up for. The other girls signed up for a dance documentary and then were trapped having to perform and work with a teacher that was yelling insults at them. Save for Melissa, I don't think the other moms would've joined the series if they knew what it would be like before hand. It's okay for Jojo to not be bothered by that style of teaching but not okay to not realize the different circumstances.

JoJo is an obnoxious mess that did not experience the trauma that some did. Abby was a monster to several of the girls, Nia and Chloe in particular were treated horribly. Over the seven years that this show was taping we saw Abby literally beat the joy of dancing out of Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Nia, Maddie and Mackenzie. JoJo was only there for two seasons and bounced before Abby could screw her up!

But then she called out Candace Cameron for being “rude” to her because she couldn’t take a picture with her when she was 11. But she’s friends with and constantly makes excuses for all the pedos and groomers of KZbin, despite proof of what they’ve done. Nia and Holly were subjected to racism and targeted attacks , something JoJo knows nothing about. And Kenzie was constantly being compared to her sister, and Maddie was forced into rivalries with the girls due to Abby, and her mother, and Abby, as well as Sia, had a very creepy emotional enmeshment with Maddie as a child, Abby literally gave her first kiss, and constantly demanded credit for all her success. At the core of it all, production and Abby were horrendous to the girls, but I applaud Chloe for coming back since she was treated horribly as well, especially by Abby, but she also stated she’s been in therapy for years and was in a place where she was able to get to a place of reminiscence . Maybe Nia, Maddie and Kenzie aren’t, and that’s none of JoJo’s business.

Honestly my biggest criticism of the reunion is that it was produced through lifetime, the same network (not exactly the same people producing but) that benefited from when production stirred the pot on the show to create these "tv moments". They want to be able to push a narrative and create tv drama to gain more views and prevent the cast from breaking the the 4th wall/spilling production involvement. For the girls who didn't attend I can completely understand not only just not wanting to relive those moments but also not wanting to have your feelings about those moments manipulated to fit a narrative. Not wanting to work with the network again is super understandable and obviously lifetime won't show anyone speaking negatively of production on or off camera. I can't remember exactly which events but iirc (I'll have to rewatch to quote) there were some fights mentioned in the reunion that production had heavy involvement in and its not brought up a single time despite in podcasts or interviews the mums admitting how heavy the involvement was. I don't mean this post to take away from or as any sort of excuse for the behaviour on the show but I just feel like the network's involvement hasn't been discussed much in reference to this reunion. Edit: I forgot to mention that yes virtually any production aims to portray a narrative but having lifetime in control completely prevents any possibility of bringing production into the discussion except in a positive light if they even choose to do so

Guys remember DO NOT trust what you see!!!! These producers always set things up like this for drama. Kalani is usually so classy and respectful so why is she so angry with Melissa all of a sudden?
