Of course they destroy a customer return! You wouldn’t want to buy lipstick that was previously owned by a stranger. As for dumpster diving, that’s not you or me finding some treasures in the trash to save a couple of bucks one day. Dumpster diving IS a business. People hope to steal large quantities to resell to unsuspecting customers. These customers are not informed that these products are stolen or have been deposed of. These customers don’t know they’re buying trash. It’s a cutthroat business, too, where they don’t care about a person’s wellbeing. Other dumpster divers are their competition. It may sound silly to you, but many resort to violence regardless of whether or not you’re aware of it. For safety reasons, I would suggest that you don’t put stuff on your face that has been previously owned or in the trash.

Also, I'm thinking the people who said it wasn't a big deal have next to no experience in art communities. Art theft and no credits have been quite an issue. It often leads to the original artist not getting enough recognition while the reposters (who don't credit) and tracers get all the attention. And while yes, Marly (the artist) may have worded it differently, I understand why she acted that way.

Now imagine you have this happen to every single project you put your hard work into. How would you feel? Probably very mad. It's the exact same thing here. This person spent so many hours and put work into that drawing just to have it stolen and get no credit for it. She isn't overreacting, it's a completely justified reaction and it clearly wasn't the first time something like that has happened from the way the artist was speaking, so she was fed up with it. She had nothing to apologize for. While Loren wasn't really at fault here, since she was misled as well, she could have apologized to the artist. I don't understand why people are feeling sorry for Loren, she admitted it was a mistake on her part and was just trying to fix it, she wasn't a victim here at all.

Vonne JvR Just because they gave credit, that does not mean that she had the right to take the drawing that she spent hours doing and converting it “her own”, if she really wanted to make a fan art of Loren she should’ve done it herself from scratch and not take someone else’s art work. What makes you think that “crediting”, tracing and publishing as something “new” is the same as not stealing. Things don’t add up there. Crediting is acknowledging someone publicly, not taking that original artwork and transforming it into something else which is plagiarism. Plagiarize means to steal the works of another and making it as your own. So idk what you are talking about “over dramatic”, I think you should take your own words into consideration “think before you put anything on social media” because you come off as an uneducated person right now, maybe you should start paying attention in class more and maybe do your own research on plagiarism and crediting. And like the artist said, she had nothing against Loren, she was just against her art being used in a wrongful way.

@@laiyaorchid5464 people shouldn't dumpster dive makeup anyways because it puts themselves at risk. Anything else that can be washed though is free game, I also think shampoos/conditioners should be free game.

I think it’s not Loren’s fault as she didn’t know, and she handled it great. The first artist reacted a great way, neither of them are in the wrong except the person who edited it first.
