That second spillway dam below the the one you fished last time is called an afterbay. I don't know why they are built but it is a fairly common practice at dams across larger rivers. In the summer time, you can’t throw a rock in that spot and not hit a gar. Grew up there and recognized the spots from the last couple vids. My uncle was a project manager for the company that restored the location in this video. He said they pulled out some giant cats out of there and relocated them to a park lake by my parents house that was brand new at the time.

Baked some crinkle cut French fries and we had a delightful dinner. My wife is from New Orleans and she loves Catfish! Up until a year or so ago, every time someone on KZbin caught a decent crappie they invariably mentioned: the "shoulders" on this fish! I don't hear that any more. Maybe next time Josh catches a crappie he will mention it's shoulders, even if just to say: "This crappie has shoulders like PeeWee Herman!" 😂 Thanks for the video Josh!
