Thank you for introducing me to the Baby Whale!! I bit the bullet and got some Baby Whales and holy crap is it the best producing lure I have ever used! I caught four 14”+ LMB in just 2 hours all in a small swampy pond. I was also trying other lures. Got a few on Bluegill Chatterbait and a NICE bowfin on a Savage Gear 4D Large Craw on a 5/0 Gama EWG. The vid is on my channel with footage of an otter in Southeast Texas!

I vote smallies.. I love how they change color throughout the year here. I caught the most beautiful little chunk about a week ago wading. It was a super bronze little pig with beautiful markings. Maybe 2.5lbs. Love my new insulated waders. Ready for some Michigan Steelies!!!
@bubbarub1839Ай бұрын
Smallie’s are my favorite also… When i was a Kid, it was nothing to Catch a mess, today here way down South, it’s really cool to catch one, they are the most Beautiful…
@BrentGarcia-vb7dxАй бұрын
@bubbarub1839 I agree. My buddies and I used to wade the white river here in Indiana back in the day and tear them up. They're a little more sparse than they used to be here, but i think there's move size on average. With that being said I don't even smallmouth fish anymore like that. I caught that pig w a Bobby garland bluegill fishing for flathead bait. It was a surprise, I forgot that a 2.5 pound smaller feels like a 5lb largemouth

Thanks for making this. I’m not able to tie on a hook anymore but I used to hike in to about every river and branch that trout and bass were in all over Missouri Ozarks in the 80s and 90s. I used to drive 5 hours from Kansas City to fish the North Fork and come back to get home by midnight and work the next morning lol. The Black used to be one of the best in those days to float for brownies.

The Iowa river runs right through this cool little river Gypsy town with cool dams and rapids. Caught a lot of big fish this year and so have all of my comrades. Congrats! And to answer the aggression spotted bass vs Lmb, Spotted are known to be more aggressive than LMB and in my experience are still fairly aggressive in the cold compared to lmb. Although, I cant say for 💯 since I live in California and in my area, we dont get a true “winter” climate that would heavily affect the bite. Just different target depths is all

Hey my man in Missouri waterways are public, as long as you're in the creek/river or the banks to the normal flood line you're good the land around is what you gotta worry about/ and land owners have water rights I'm pretty sure but if you're wading or sticking to the banks no need to worry about trespassing

Small mouth in the fall. My friend and I went to a dam that also had tons of back pools under the bridge. Snag city. Especially for how low the river was. Any i want with a weight less finesse salt water worm super orange and got one of my best smalleys ever. Later we went to the damn and I've wanted to catch a walleye for years. We had head lamps on and could see the eyes just causing around. Eventually we went to a white swim baby whale style bait and boom. My first on ever. Watched him chase it in. Can't wait. Like, I don't know if it is something that has been said, but could swear that I've heard "if you want to catch fish, watch the birds.." Loons chase minnows/bait fish Waterfowl avoid big bass, pike, musky.. That being said; the rock in front of you with the big bird turd smear, I tend to have good luck casting from spots with that type of bird poo sign/build-up. If they are catching, they are eating. If they are eating, they are 💩
