This series definitely has merit, looking forward to see what you come later on! My biggest suggestions would be a move from the Shotos or Terry, a core projectile for a character (Samus, Mega man), and a move that has absolutely no combat use outside of smash, like pocket or judge.

Something I will never get is the long animation, and the "hit once, can't get hit again", particularly with Adult Link. It has mostly been a single, maybe double complete turnaround in Zelda, yet in Smash, he spins around 5 or 6 times. I never quit understood why, mostly because the few incarnations that do take a long time to finish can hit the same enemy multiple times.
@ballisticboo78084 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if they're going to keep it as single hit they should just have him do one spin.

Other good moves would be Samus' charge beam, Ryu's Hadoken, Pikachu's Thunder, Sonic's spin dash...

Solid stuff as usual! My only peeves here are: 1- No footage/mention of the Four Swords Adventures fully charged spin attack (after reaching the Force Gem threshold) 2- I think it at deserves a passing mention that Link's forward-air is very likely modeled after an 'uncharged' spin attack, resembling Ocarina of Time's especially-- even hitting behind Link in Smash 64 before the move was slowly streamlined across games. A bit of speculation and hearsay if we're JUST going over the move titled "Spin Attack", but I think it speaks to how iconic it is in Link's repertoire. Looking forward to more of the series though, very excited!
@MrMockRock4 жыл бұрын
Good feedback! The Four Swords Adventures addition wouldn't be a bad idea, I was trying to avoid getting too stuck in the weeds with _every_ variant of the move ever seen but that one is probably unique enough to include, good call. In regards to his forward air, I generally stayed away from too much stuff that was "Spin Attack-esque," which is also why I don't directly mention, for example, the Back Slice from Wind Waker/Twilight Princess. It's already a heavy topic, so I tried to stick to more explicit references.

Absolutely loved this video. The Zelda series is my favorite video game franchise, and to see one of my favorite content creators touching on it is a welcome surprise. Please keep this series up, it honestly seems like an amazing fit for you and your style. As an aside, when I think “iconic game moves” the first thing I think of is Sonic’s Homing Attack. Granted this is almost exclusively a 3D move, and something like the Spin Dash or the modern boost mechanic may be more fitting for the character, when I think of a “Video game attack” that’s the first one that pops up, so if it interests you I’d be a liar to say that I’m uninterested in seeing you cover it. As for your 3 listed in the video however, Kirby’s inhale would easily be my choice. Love ya MockRock 💚

Never knew you could circle the joy stick for a spin attack in BOTW. That's sick. For the next video, I'd love to see Mario's "Super Jump Punch" or Shulk's "Monado Arts"!

I’m seeing what rating would get the Monado Arts

Terry's Buster Wolf might be hell to go through, it's appeared in like well over 30 games.

Love this series concept. Just one question: How can a character like Snake be rated here, tho? Were his signature move is his CQC and stealth. By his throws? By stealthily placing C4 on opponents? By both?
