Spin Training in a Cessna 150

Today I am headed out with Nic to do some spin training for his initial CFI certificate. Spin awareness and recovery training is required for all prospective CFI applicants, and is a crucial skill to help ensure the safety of the student and instructor in the flight training environment. This training is meant to introduce the signs and causes of spins, and the proper recovery techniques. Throughout this video you’ll see us working on various stall and exercises, eventually leading up to full spins, with an emphasis on prevention and recovery - as well as teaching techniques to help introduce stalls and spin awareness to your students.

This is exactly how I teach stalls, your power-off stall at just a few minutes in. So much calmer and easier to teach and learn than the hard pitch up and down methods most people teach. Great job.

I did spin training in a decathlon. Pretty cool doing spin training. Me pulling up was limited to how many G I could handle. The aircraft could hand more G's than me. I think I was at about 3.5 to 4 G's.

I think this is necessary for every pilot. Good idea for me to take spin training once per year as a Private Pilot. Should not just be limited to CFI.

I accidentally did a wing over my first time practicing stalls without an instructor in a 172. I though I was dead. By time that thought when into my head the airplane recovered. Glad I did not force the controls
