This actually happened to me a ywar ago. I had went to my 1RM on bench and know I was still new to lifting, my friend at the time was spotting me. The very next morning, my entire spine locked out completely, I was on the floor on my chest for 1 hour, it was EXTREMELY painful to move period, fingers, limbs, I couldn't even shout. After that hour passed I SLOWLY started to roll on my side, very slowly, and I wouls just roll side to side slowly while moving my limbs and deep breathing gradually as the pain went away. After that, I haven't had it since. Edit: Also, I would like to add I think the reason why this happened to me was I had never trained for strength, I was doing a PPL and it was my very first time 1RM, and this was at the end of my push workout. I also had my back completely flat with not arch, not even slightly. I am certain this is what caused great pain and injury to my spine.

As someone with back ,surgery and nerve damage I have to say it is absolutely devastating. Yes the pain is excruciating you suffer a lot but the worst thing for me was going from someone jacked and strong to someone who couldn't even walk to go take a shit out I had to crawl .

@@TenaciousTex Multiple factors . I have scoliosis and my family from both sides has weak spinal disc structures ( bothe parents + other family members all have bulging discs ). I did really know about that at the start combine it with the fact that I had insane passion and I trained through pain . I was suffering for year with the the pain in the sciatic nerve and one day BAM . My story is actually insane but thank God I am kind of healthy now . I have minimal nerve damage now I can lift but can't load my spine with heavy weights in the deadlift and the squat . I am actually gonna compete again soon I thought that was never a possibility again . I have bulging discs in both my neck and lumbar regions. I made a surgical procedure in my neck almost 3 years ago, but only one of the bulging discs fully returned to its place (or both returned and one of them re-herniaeted). My injuries were mainly from BJJ (trained almost 3 years), but bad posture can be the reason, too. I'm still training with weights every day (of course with precautions). Almost one year after the surgery, I had neck and back pain again, so I returned to the medics. The doctor who made the first surgery wanted to make the procedure again, but another spine doctor said it wasn't necessary and the back pain I had years ago was not from the discs, but from other factors (such as anxiety and muscular problems). Some other doctors said the same thing to me back then, but I was so mad about discs bulging around my spine chord that I made the surgery as quickly as possible in fear (and it wasn't necessary). Today, I train with heavier weights than before and rarely have back pain (once in the year). If you can train, don't ever stop. I had 3 months off because of the pain and fear I was going tetraplegic if I made a wrong move or something. It was the worse time of my life. ALWAYS go for a second medical opinion (or a third). Don't do any kind of surgery if it isn't really necessary. And never quit gym if you don't have pain. Once you stop, it gets even worse. Many of my friends in the gym have back problems, btw. Train with responsibility and respecting your limits.
@alexandrosamanatidis78252 жыл бұрын
@@josedecamargo753 I am lifting now I was forced to stop in the past but now I am relatively good ,still struggle sometimes . My problem was the opposite the first few doctors I saw told me there was no need for surgery but the docs were compromised and they were getting worse through the years .I can not train heavy again in deads and squats ,I did it in the past and I was able to progress with tremendous effort but at the end I actually got paralyzed in my left lower body( due to a raptured disc that was there for years that got worse and worse).
