I think I have this. In 2009 I was young and was windmill headbanging my head and had extreme pain over the left trap and neck. It got written off as a pulled muscle. Im now 28 and created a massive imbalance over the years with minor issues here and there and didnt think too much of it, bc no pain. I have been having weird issues with my neck shoulder and general alignment, atrophy trap and massive imbalance in my drooped shoulder, and slight deviated neck. Shoulder also pops i and out with ease is feels unstable. Jumping through hoops now to see what it really is wrong and its taking forever with the system in canada....

If I were you I would schedule with a Doctor of Chiropractic for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment as soon as I could. I would ask for imaging (x-rays and MRI) of cervical spine (Neck) and thoracic spine (midback). I would ask as many question as possible about rehab stretching and strengthening exercises. Here is a playlist of my videos that may provide useful information kzbin.info/aero/PLqvttwjy17BmU6f3m07lN26JkEtZas53o

Yes, this is a treatable condition if it is chronic. Please remember that the longer amount of time a nerve is entraped, the longer the recovery time.

I have spasm and pain in the larger, superior portion of the left trap and painless fasciculations down into the lower scapular portion of the Accessory distribution. Sxs are triggered by turning my head to the left, raising the left shoulder girdle, lying on my left side, and lying on my back depending on neck position. Onset was a year ago. I had two surgeries plus radiation for head and neck cancer nearly 10 years ago. I've tried some home stretches, but they exacerbate my sxs. I don't care for the meds I'm taking for this, and would like to find non-pharmacologic modalities to improve my sxs.

Goodmorming doctor! A friend of mine has been presenting a very hard and fibromatous state mostly in the areas of trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles for 3 years. She has bilateral pain in the area of that muscles, cervicalgia and cefalea. However the motility Is very well preserved. Is it possible that the accessory nerve is somehow involved even though the motility is preserved? Thank you very much, from Italy!
@drdozellodc
@drdozellodc 4 жыл бұрын
Good question. The Spinal Accessory Nerve innervates the trapezius so its involvement is possible. If I were you I would see a Doctor of Chiropractic for evaluation & treatment.

After 10 years of pain i found this out in and out of hospitals since my 20s and because i have a bulging disk and forward head posture they related it only to my neck because that’s what they see they wanted to put metal in my neck. I constantly told them my shoulder blade and my head hurts 27 burning but no they sent me to a back dr then to a brain dr and kept swapping. I have inflammation all day in pain for years never healed burning pain from the right side it gets swollen and hot and swells the back of my occipital area and right side of my head burns u can feel the heat it’s also pulling my neck down bit no they never Realated it to this damaged nerve because there is no way to test c2 nerve to prove it’s damaged but they should know it was not healing and my head hurt all they said is my building disk won’t cause head pain leaving me not knowing and them not knowing why. They just wanted the surgery on my neck I told them I’m trying to find the cause the burning what pinched nerve but they said I don’t know just get the neck surgery but I would still have the shoulder knots and burning because I don’t need neck surgery I need brain surgery to my accessory nerve i need decompression never heals and it’s pulling my occipital area pulling my neck down I just don’t know if I also need occipital decompression because the upper trapezius is whats pulling my occipital nerve so because I have both it’s hard to know if once I decompress the accessory nerve it will let go of the occipital área so how can I know if The occipital area is also trapped so I can get both done but I just might need the assessory nerve since it’s whats causing it all?

I had a san injury for the last 6 months. Still not 100% but recovering. Trapezius atrophy and supraclavicular fossa are recovering. Winging has disapated. Shrugging and shoulder impingement recovered. Stabbing neck pain shut off 3 weeks ago. Off painkillers. Very painful injury. I suspect a few more months if not longer before all atrophy is recovered. Emg confirmed impairment of San and mri yielded negative for mass or lesion of the brachial plexus. Hit me up if anyone needs advice on their journey while coping with San palsy. Exercise is key! Goodluck!

@@drdozellodc Thanks for the advice and inspiration, I will once I'm better and I've beaten this with certainty. I've also watched your SAN flossing video. I did some overheard pressing a week and a half ago and it re-triggered an attack of nerve pain. Hopefully, I go back to being pain-free again soon. My interference pattern on my EMG was 75% for the cranial nerve. Does that mean operating at 75% capacity? Or 75% impaired ability. Also, it said the following: Dur: >12ms, Poly: 3+, Recrt: Reduced, Int Pat: 75% What should these numbers be ideally to be considered normal. I have another EMG scheduled on May 1st. Any advice would be appreciated.
