Hey Dr Dave. I discovered this stretch a wile ago. I use a horizontal railing outside and it feels great. I don't have an issue though. My sister opted for surgery and now has a permanent dropped foot. Nerve compression to tibialis anterior I think. PS I saw that rack on a James Bond movie and he was a bad boy afterwards. Chuckle.

Hi doctor. I am a 36 year old woman. have an L4/L5 and L5/S1 mild herniations that were caused by an injury 16 months ago, however, still having frequent pain starting from lower back, the hip and ending at my left foot. I tried physiotherapy twice, it helped for a couple months then pain reoccurs. Will these exercises help?

These exercises may very well help take pressure off when you're having symptoms, but they won't "cure" the problem per se. You'd need to have it evaluated in person to figure out the long-term treatment strategy. If the physiotherapy helped for awhile but the pain came back, it may be as simple as keeping up with the exercise more regularly. If it didn't help, you may want to seek out a physio with a more specialized level of training.
