Their English accents are really convincing, but it's their mastering the essence of Englishness that's so impressive. Derek Smalls travelling around in his dad's Maestro van. Perfect.

Yeah, Derek Smalls going back to Nilford to reevaluate his prospects…so his father takes him out on his “Sani Phone”route to go door to door to clean and sanitize phones. Then Derek realizes that everyone can go to the nearest store to buy paper towels and blue cleaning solution to sanitize their own phones. FUNNY, AND THE FACT THEY ALL DID THIS ON THE FLY, NO WRITTEN SCRIPTS.

Won free tickets to see Spinal Tap from some goofy AM radio station back in the late 70's or early 80's while I was living in Cincinnati. They were on a triple bill with another English band call Scum of the Earth and a touring puppet show. The puppets were awesome.

Spinal Tap is one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. I'm not one of those who actually thought it was a genuine documentary about a real band. However, as a Brit, I was astounded when I eventually found out that these were American actors. The Brit accents are so authentic, and I've watched a lot of American movies where far more esteemed actors than these guys make a mess of a Brit accent. One of the worst ever is probably Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, although I'm not sure how serious that was meant to be. Kevin Costner in Robin Hood though, wtf is that all about? The best Scottish accents I've heard from an American actor (I'm from Scotland) would be Mike Myers, in So I Married An Axe Murderer and the Shrek movies. And before anyone calls me out, I know Mike is Canadian, but he's still an American, as Canada is part of North America. Just like I'm Scottish, but I'm also British as Scotland is part of Great Britain.
