Oh wow didn’t expect the shout out, thank you so much. Not only for mentioning me but also for bringing this incredibly written character back into the spot light for even just a few short minutes. Spinel is a character that has not left my mind since I watched the movie years ago. Her dialog, personality, and character are not only a spectacle to watch and hear but an amazing depiction to what trauma can do to someone who’s “good” Spinel mentions “why do I want to hurt you so badly. I just wanna be your friend. I just wanna be “A” friend. When you’ve been hurt by somebody, and you’ll never get to have “closure” (like spinel will never get to confront pink Diamond) then you allow that trauma to consume you and warp not only your actions but your desires. Seeing other people have close relationships and love when you were denied it, crushes you. “You know originally I wanted to take out my anger on a bunch of strangers. But now that I know you I want to kill you even more” Spinel doesn’t “hate steven” She hates everything he has, because she doesn’t. She wants friends, and love, and companionships. But the one person she had loved not only lied to her, manipulated her, and abandoned her, when spinel had nothing but 100% trust in pink Diamond. I genuinely believe spinel would have waited another 6000 years for pink Diamond to come back to her. All the while blaming herself “happily wondering night after night. Is this how it works? Am I doing it right? Happy to listen. Happy to stay.” It’s soul crushing to think about and I could rant for hours about every line of dialog she has, as it’s a masterpiece. But I’ll stop here. Thank you for the shout out, and thank you for making this video.

Future itself felt rushed for me. Like. I didn’t mind it but it felt… like it was there to be there. There were some parts that had some real potential to them… but most of the parts felt… I don’t know… unfinished…? Spinel deserved to be in more of the series… but not only that but the diamonds were forgiven WAY too easily 😭

@@viperizer0 Only she could have helped Stephen through his hard time, But nooo, they had to wait until he turned into a Titan and all of them hugged him like the effin teletubbies, oh the indignity! We could have had spinel learn what it means to be a real friend by helping Steven through his rough times and his pink episodes.
