Which is better for trout fishing? Jerkbait or Spinner? In this video, Seth and I put this to the test with a PA Trout Fishing Challenge! We faceoff, using each lure. Whoever can catch the most fish, wins.

I've found jerkbaits are superior for native or wild trout, while spinners really work well for stocked.

My son and I did this exact challenge earlier in the season for 3 days at DHALO streams. Results, spinner outfished jerkbait by about 50%.
