Could you show or comment on how you apply the little bead in the center. Thanks. Great video!

It's one of the squashed glass globs and I foiled around the edge and then soldered it to the edges of the glass pieces.

What temp is your iron when you are tacking them together, so well done!
@BrokenArtGlass3 жыл бұрын
I’m not exactly sure. I use a heat temp controller and I usually set it between 70 and 80 depending on what my solder is doing that day.

Love this, where does one get that yellow holder and what is it called?
@BrokenArtGlass Жыл бұрын
Hello! I can’t recall what it is called, but I going from Delphi and it is a Morton brand mold.

Great video, thank you for sharing. Curious how you attached the hanger ?
@BrokenArtGlass4 жыл бұрын
I soldered a length of wire with a loop on the end for the hanger and extra long sides to get it soldered into the seams to help with the weight.

Thank you! I'm ready to attempt my first spinner. Do you put a bead on the outer edges after you assemble or is it just tinned?
@BrokenArtGlass3 жыл бұрын
I just have these tinned. I do snake the hanging wire down well into the piece to take the weight easier.

Great video! Did you make the wood jig? If so, is there a pattern or instructions? Looks like it’s 4” blocks bolted together.
@BrokenArtGlass3 жыл бұрын
hello! this particular jig my father made for me and I think it is 4 pieces of 4x4 bolted together. It was enormous though and I found a maker on Etsy who made them and bought a second one that worked a bit better.

Do you attach the swivel to the loop or at the top of the chain?
@BrokenArtGlass2 жыл бұрын
I add a long piece of thicker wire that I solder deep into the seams to help distribute the weight, and I feed the wire through one end of the swivel, twist it into a bit of a loop, then finish soldering the wire into those seams.

Delphi Glass have a "Professional Box Maker" for sale that will do maybe an even better job for square /rectangle soldering.

What is the yellow tray your using ?
@BrokenArtGlass2 жыл бұрын
It’s from Morton. I think it was bought through Delphi Glass several years back.

Where can I purchase that yellow framing gadget?
@BrokenArtGlass2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if it’s made any longer, but I think it was from Morton? I’ve had it forever, but if you can’t find it on Amazon or from a glass supply store, I betting someone could 3D-print it.

Where did you get the yellow holder for holding the pieces to solder the 45 degree angles
@BrokenArtGlass4 жыл бұрын
I think it's a Morton systems form and I'm guessing I got it from Delphi at some point.

They don’t spin
@BrokenArtGlass3 жыл бұрын
It takes a bit of wind because the glass is heavy. I use a fishing spinner to get the movement in mine and that seems to work well.

@@BrokenArtGlass you can also buy a battery operated spinner on amazon.
