We love fishing for Max in Eastport , Maine, USA. The town breakwater gives lots of space for fishing and relaxing. We use 4 or 6 hook Sakbiki type rigs. Shiny mylar wings, green bead. , red lashing at the eye of the hook. Max love it. A friend ties lots of these and will give them to the kids and out of towners. Come get one. Fish on !! Thanks.

Another good one Gary what the best time to go low tide or high tide or does it not matter
@fishingintheukgarywood2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Colin , I usually try to go a couple of hours before high water and fish the tide in then back out for an hour or two.

Hi Gary. I tried the Leas this morning(3rd Aug) for the first time, but wasn't sure where to go! I parked just past the bus stop past The Bamburgh pub, walked down the path then turned right at the cliff top! I managed to scramble down the rocks and fished for 30 mins, but lost some gear, and there were no signs of any fish! High tide was 7.30 and I was there for 6.30. I ended up going to the pier for high water, but the gates were closed! Do they close them for a reason, as the last twice I've been there they've been closed? Actually, the Port of Tyne van drove through the gates, went to the pier end, told the anglers there ( who must have climbed around the gates) to move, then drove back again and closed the gates behind it. I travelled from Whitley Bay, and was disappointed that I couldn't get on the pier end !
@fishingintheukgarywood2 жыл бұрын
Seems like you were in there right area from the rocks I think this year has been a bit hit and miss from there. They normally only shut the gates and ask people to leave when they are doing work on the end of the pier and have the divers in the water doing the repairs. This time of year you can normally catch from the start of the pier over high water.
@kevintodd61502 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, once again, thanks for your quick reply.There were half a dozen fishing at the start of the pier, but I couldn’t see any fish lying! My brother in law goes boat fishing and he says there are stacks of mackerel about and there are loads being caught off the rocks at Craster and most of them are a good size. He puts it down to the Avian flu epidemic.There are more sprats and bait fish as the bird numbers are down, resulting in more food for the mackerel. Having fished there today, I can appreciate how much time and trouble it must take to video your fishing antics, so it really is much appreciated 👍
@fishingintheukgarywood2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin, hopefully you get some soon good luck 👍

@@kevintodd6150 Kevin the pier is locked every night but they don’t ask you to leave the pier they just warn you they’re locking it,and if you don’t go off with them you need to make your own way off around the gates.i do a fair bit of night fishing on there and during winter time the gates are normally locked when I turn up.
@kevintodd61502 жыл бұрын
@@prs32123 Thanks for your message.I can’t understand that if they allow you to fish when the gates are closed, then why would they close the gates sometimes? When the port of Tyne authority van went to the end of the pier they obviously told the anglers to come off, as before long, half a dozen lads ( some with bikes), made their way to the gate, where they proceeded to climb around, as the driver had locked the gates after she had drove through.Most strange 🤔🤔🤔
