Dogs and their slaves are a real pain in the ass on the beach sniffing round your stuff. Was it an Offshore wind by any chance? I've found it ideal wind for flatties.

Frozen packs of mackerel are about the cheapest and it works great for flounder, whiting and codling in the rivers and from the beaches.

Nice early morning fishing secession there Gary, then home for some fresh mackerel for breakfast, can't be bad. Thanks for sharing this video, as always very informative and well made, and you really take the time to explain what tackle you're using and why. Over the past few years I've learned a lot from you, and if anyone I know expresses an interest in sea fishing, I tell them to go and watch your channel. Talking of your videos, I don't know what you would think of the idea, but I'd be very interested in knowing how you go about making your videos? The gear and the set up you use to do the actual filming with when you're out there fishing. Then when you get back home, how you do the editing, how long it takes you and so on. Regards to you Gary, all the best David.

Nice one Gary, definitely going to give this a go. Like you say, you may only be saving a few shillings by making your own mackerel feathers, but the satisfaction of catching on something you've made yourself is something else. Then of course there's the convenience; you want to catch some fresh mackerel, you last set of feathers is in a mess and the tackle shop is closed or hasn't got any. We've probably all got some mono, hooks and something to use for the tubing kicking around.
