I Made a mistake the other day while cutting the 16 inch strips. Somehow, I made one cut then for some reason, I cut the other 8” bunch opposite what I should have, and then my 4 pieces did NOT work together on that same block. I had to make another block cut it differently, and then two of those worked with the first ones. I see now that I must have cut it diagonally but at a different angle. Love it though. Makes a cute quilt. I will use sashing in between the blocks. Thank you for a great pattern, certainly simpler than my last quilt,lol.

What great instructions!! I made a practice block and was surprised at his simple it was! You’re a great teacher Claudia!! Question; now I want to try it with a 31/2-4” center square…. How big would my strips be to make a 12” finished block? Could you help me? Or direct me how to find out?? Great job!

The only thing I would say here is that one has to watch when you’re sewing to not stretch the ends out, as they are cut on the bias, but otherwise, so nice.

You are right. Thanks for your comment.

@@patchworkwithclaudia9342it’s beautiful though, looks so elegant. Great job on this one.

Hi Sue Bean 👋☺️! I agree with you regarding stretching biased edges. My secret is to starch the heck out of your fabrics before cutting. With the stiffness, the biased edges do not stretch as much. All the best!! Happy quilting.

Do you know what the strip length should be if I use 2 inch strips ? I have been making examples and figure the math out going from 1and 1/2 to 2 inches.
@suebean3873 Жыл бұрын
Claudia, can you confirm that you’re cutting each 8” section from bottom right to top left please? I think that’s what I see but want to make sure. I know I did it wrong last time and could only use 2 of the 4 sections. I think I learned my lesson, lol.

If I wanted to make the block bigger (10" block) what would be the measurements ? How long would the strips be and would the center still be 2 1/2" block ?

How big is this block?
@patchworkwithclaudia9342 Жыл бұрын
It is 8.5 inches.

I am trying to find one that is about 6” or 6.5”
@suebean3873 Жыл бұрын
@@sharongardner9044Maybe if you only sew 4 strips, it might do it for you and then just cut it down to the size required.
