Very nice and Smooth! I Love the Colors of your Rolag

Thank you so much for talking about preferring scotch tension on your wheel! I've sometimes gotten the feeling that I'm not a "real" spinner, because I don't have my Ladybug set up in double drive.

Your wheel is GORGEOUS! I’m trying to learn to spin but I’m really struggling with drafting. So seeking out videos just to watch people and learn. I always find your voice soothing.

Aww thank you so much!! I do LOVE this wheel. In terms of drafting, my biggest advice would be to pre-draft or attenuate your fibre before trying to spin and draft at the wheel. It makes it so much easier to draft from a fluffed puff of fibre ☺️

My spinning wheel is the same but bit older. I keep it safe :) out of the sun, guests etc :)

Thanks Felicia! Watched the blending board lesson and have ordered and received some rolags but was wondering about how to spin them so your video was very timely. I was inspired by the blending board class so purchased the rolags to see if I will like spinning with them. If so I will order a blending board and expand my fibre horizons. Thanks for all the great content on SOS!!!!

Oh YAY!!! We are actually filming with Diana Twiss on Monday at the studio and her class is even MORE about blending boards, carders, hackles, and spinning with rolags! So much to play with. I hope you have fun with your rolags!!

I love doing long draw.. .and it's always fun watching someone else do it too. I have a CPW from the 1870's made by PLY Vezina. Love spinning on it! Looking forward to seeing how your yarn plies up.. the colours look wonderful :)

when you have various fibres you get a delightfully slubby yarn

I've been spinning rolags for a couple of days now, and I'm wondering how you manage to keep from the top 'layer' simply sliding down along the 'center' of the rolag, leaving you only spinning what was on the top of the blending board?

So excited, I’ve got my very own Lendrum Saxony on order 🥰 Curious if your wheel came unfinished as mine will and if so if/how you treated it?
@sweetgeorgia3 жыл бұрын
Oooooh so exciting for you!! I bought my wheel second hand, so it was already finished. It's a cherry wheel and has aged beautifully. I'm sure the Lendrum will come with information about what to finish it with. I know my Schacht Matchless has been finished with Danish oil and it's what Schacht recommends for maintaining the wheel, but I wonder what Lendrum suggests.

When I bought the wheel, I was given another flyer assembly which I have never used 😂

How long does it take to spin 8 oz? Its a beautiful art and im just curious if this is a rabbit hole i should go down. Im a CSM knitter and would love to make my own.
@iceberg23232311 ай бұрын
It depends on how your spinning. Lace weight takes way longer than a chunky spin. Hope you jumped down the rabbit hole

Hi there!! I’m about to purchase a lendrum saxony cherry just like yours from a friend. She bought it and built it but never used it or finished it. How do you recommend I finish it? A product you recommend?
@sweetgeorgia2 жыл бұрын
I finished mine with Watco Danish Oil in natural. It just helped refresh it beautifully. It’s a lovely wheel, enjoy!

What was the fiber in your rolag?
@sweetgeorgia Жыл бұрын
Good question! I seem to remember it being a blend of polwarth and silk with silk noil.

98% of that your saying and the terms you use, I don't understand. I would like to get a spinning wheel one day.

For sure... thanks for your message! Yes, I need to make a spinning video that starts from the very beginning. It's on the list to make ☺️
