Thank you for the tip about cross lacing the single across the other flyer arm, to help even out the take up on to the bobbin. Hadn’t realised that it helped do that.

I jumped in the Eel wheel 6 kickstarter. After I spun just a few minutes on my 6, I was ready to sell my Matchless. I just love it!

Great review and tip about lacing and starage bobbins! I was a participant in the Kickstarter for Eew 6.0 and was so excited when it arrived. I've been spinning with espinners for almost 15 years starting with Fricke, Hansen, Eew Nano and now Eew 6. This is the smoothest, quietest and productive espinner at an amazing price point.

That's so great to hear that feedback! I've also spun on the Hansen and Nano and I wish I still had a Hansen to compare too. But the EEW 6 has so far been a super productive little e-spinner for me!

I got my EEW 6 last month. It's been a real pleasure spinning on it! I also have the little Nano spinner. While I love my Nano, I think the EEW 6 is going to be my favorite. I love the big bobbins. It's so very quiet and spins really smoothly. I love it!
@sweetgeorgia3 жыл бұрын
YES! It's so surprisingly quiet! I'm looking forward to doing a sound test to compare the different e-spinners :)

Such a fun Taking Back Friday!! I love my Espinner and it was so cool to watch you unbox this one! I'm also so excited to try out your tip about lacing the singles over the flyer yarn! As an aside the espinner course on the SOSG is so interesting and educational, I loved learning about so many of the espinners that are on the market!

I'm about to invest in an EEW 6! I'd love to see you spin cobweb on this wheel, I'm very interested in spinning thin yarn, but I've only spun on a fairly heavy drop spindle so I haven't made any yarn thinner than dk probably and I know I'll need advice!
@sweetgeorgia3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I can attempt some fine cobweb yarn on here! :) It's just a matter of getting the camera to focus close enough haha

Thank you for the demo. Would it be possible for you to spin thick and thin yarn? Thank you and I love your vlog.
@SpoonieTreasure3 жыл бұрын
yes! The EEW 6.0 will spin a huge variety of yarn styles, including: thick and thin, beehive, coils, bulky to frog hair.

For sure! I'm adding that to the list to do! Planning on having that video out for the end of May. Thanks Simone!

@@sweetgeorgia Nice, I,m saving up for an es-pinner and I might with this one. Did you have any issue with it not being grounded properly? I heard a lot of people had issues with that and kept getting shocks

I’m a novice spinner. I’m using an EEW6. I have a bobbin half full of single and noticed my setting is on S twist when I meant to spin singles in Z twist and then ply on S twist. How can I remedy this? If I continue with S and ply with Z for one bobbin but do the rest of the fleece the opposite way, can I still use them in the same project or will the direction of the spin be obvious?

I’m a brand new spinner - I have a drop spindle and the EEW 6.0! I’m sort of struggling with drafting - does spinning slower on this spinner have an effect on the yarn? I just want to make sure I can draft properly before going full force into this.
@sweetgeorgia Жыл бұрын
For sure, you can dial down the speed of the e-spinner to give yourself more time to draft the fibre. The speed of the e-spinner doesn’t affect your yarn, but the amount of twist in the singles does affect your yarn. So just spin, do your plyback test to check how much twist is in your yarn, and adjust as needed. 👍 good luck with your spinning! Feel free to ask more questions too! Happy to help

Great video, I would love to try the eSpinner! You mentioned storage bobbins. I checked the website and didn’t see any for sale at Sweet Georgia. Are you using regular spinning wheels bobbins or some specific storage bobbins? And what bobbin winder are you using? My bobbin winder for the weaving bobbins doesn’t have a tall enough shaft to fit spinning bobbins. Any advice is appreciated!
@sweetgeorgia3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes! I just use Leclerc styrene/plastic/cardboard storage bobbins for weaving. They are typically used for sectional warping. I have a double ended electric bobbin winder also from Leclerc, but you can also use a manual bobbin winder. I’ve seen people adapt a hand drill to wind bobbins too.
@joanharris75173 жыл бұрын
@@sweetgeorgia Thank you! I have an order ready for Leclerc so this is perfect timing. Thank you so much!
