SPINNING STAR practice DAY 1 - the Fast & Furious

A spining star (or dapo star) is a weighted cloth game/toy that resembles making pizza dough by throw the star in the air and spin it on your finger! It's really fun and a great challenge.

I know this was 2 years ago but i figured id comment some tips anyway. when you first get the dapo spinning, try get a few big fast spins by doing a full 180 with your wrist and giving it a bit more air so it has time to flatten out. Then start catching it in the center with ur finger (easier on the pattern side) and rotate in small circles. You have to try and match the speed of the cloth with your finger so the tip of ur finger isnt moving on the contact point. It will however slide along ur finger, so to tackle that, do a few rotations until it starts sliding, then with ur 1 finger, flick the cloth back up and give it a bit more spin and then try and recenter. I think you are having trouble getting it to spin because its not rotating fast enough. Good luck! Dapo is heaps of fun, and even better with another person, kinda like frisbee

I've spun things on my finger before, but were stiff enough to keep shape. You can't put your finger exactly in the center or it won't work. Slightly off center and spinning it, the centrifugal force will keep it open. I would try initially spinning it with two hands underneath, both hands 1/3 from center to get it started.

I read about juggling deaths, I doubt this is up to date, but There seem to be several notable examples of juggle deaths. One was an infection from a cut caused by a juggling implement, so disinfect those cuts everyone! Another was from missing catching a ball on the neck/back, this young woman juggler got hit on the head by a ball and died. (it was 60kg). There was supposedly an incident where a college aged juggler tried to juggle a live hand grenade and blew himself up. And finally it seems that someone died while laughing about someone's performance.

We us to run twisted up rice rockets in the 1980’s way Before the fast and furious I watch the first one it was OK the second one with a one car jumped over the other car I never seen any more after that I thought maybe it was a movie they would promote Asian cars but the only thing I seen was stupid. We were running 300 hp cars and destroying American cars a lot of Physical fist fights because people didn’t like Japanese cars back then they hated him anybody on the dragstrip

Padidling (finger spinning) is a different skill than the other tricks that requires winging it around. I've found some good padidling tutorials on KZbin that suggest learning with a flat pillow. So that's what I'm working on at the moment. I don't want to die without this skill that I've been trying to learn since the Isla Vista Juggling Convention in 1981.
