My daughter is a freshman and I noticed her flag is often wrapped up. I agree there is no way you could explain your fix so I am glad you took the time to do this. In stead of doing Competitive Winter Guard, they are going to use that time to work on their fundamentals. A much needed practice. Thanks again.

This is a literal lifesaver, thank you so much. I just joined color guard and I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed and I’m expected to do 50 drop spin’s tomorrow at rehearsal and they’re hard for me to do without hitting myself let alone the flag rolling alllll the way up. I could not be more grateful for this

@@SpintronixGuardThank you so much! I just recently realized that my wrist was popped out of the socket and I remembered that my flag fell on my wrist so I wasn’t able to practice anymore today, but hopefully I’ll be able to practice tomorrow before rehearsal and I’ll definitely be using this tip, thanks for the support!

the problem is we’re told not to put our hands in the silk at all. only on the pole. any tips?
@SpintronixGuard Жыл бұрын
You can do the same thing! Just get your thumbs pointed along that seam from outside the silk. Then, once you’ve got it figured out how to not roll it up, simply wrap your thumbs back around the pole like normal.

I loved your tips! I usually tell my guard to watch how their wrist twists and if they "cue-tip" (what we call it) to purposely twist the opposite direction and it always works, but it takes time for them to understand that concept. I'm going to try to use the seam tip with my next season. Love it! Thank you.
@SpintronixGuard7 жыл бұрын
Let me know how it goes! And I totally get what you mean about the "wrist twists" on the spins. That's where I use the wall trick with them.

You are probably bending your wrists as it goes. Put your thumbs on the silk and see if you can keep them there the whole time.

Can you make a video about how to prevent getting a sail? You might not call it that but it's where the flag gets hung up

hi! i know this was made several years ago, and the last time you replied to someone was several months ago, but if you see this, i would appreciate your help! i tried to do the seam trick, but i keep doing something (i’m not quite sure what it is yet) which makes the seam go to the side. when i notice, i have to rotate the pole with one of my hands to go back to the seam while spinning. it works for me for a little bit, and i definitely made progress at not rolling up the flag. however, after a few seconds, my arms get tired of doing so much and the flag roles up again. it also takes so much concentration for me to only be able to spin it for a few seconds. is this because i haven’t spent enough time doing this trick? do you know some situations that would make me accidentally rotate the pole while doing drop spins?
@SpintronixGuard7 ай бұрын
Hi there! We respond to comments on videos every single day, no matter how old they are :) So long as KZbin send a notification, someone will respond! It sounds like your wrists are automatically turning the pole in order to roll it up as you spin. You might be reaching too far to the front of the pole with one hand each time you transfer the flag from one hand to the other, but it’s difficult to be sure exactly what’s going on without actually seeing you do it. Try spinning up against a wall and see if your knuckles are staying flat to the wall or if there’s a change in which part of your hand is touching the wall.
