✂️ 7/8” width acetate ribbons
For 18” braid
39” length for middle (flat) ribbon
35” for weaving ribbon
Double length of ribbons for length of braid needed (FOR BRAIDING RIBBONS)
12” braid cut 24” ribbons
18” braid cut 36” ribbons
24” braid cut 48” ribbons
30” braid cut 60” ribbons
36” braid cut 72” ribbons
It’s always a good idea to cut a couple extra inches of the ribbons you’ll be using to braid with. The ribbon used in center (flat) that does not do any of the braiding just need to double length needed

I don’t know why you couldn’t. I haven’t done it with a spirit chain but I have done that with a champion/ Texas chain so I’m sure it would work! Good idea!! Thanks so much 🥰💙💚💜

Thank you for the video. Quick question I have the acetate ribbon when place it on the chain. one side looks the shiny side then I cross it over and it looks matte. Wanted to recheck if I am doing it correctly? totally stressing out! please help me!!

easy fix: double your ribbons from now on and make sure the shiny side is facing out on both sides before you start braiding. it'll make your braids heavier and better looking too.

Love your videos!! So easy to watch and learn from them! I have a couple of questions. How long of a length of ribbon do you start with to end up with an 18 inch braid? And are both ribbons the same length? Thanks!!

Thank you! I appreciate that. I put that information in the description. It’s safe to say for the middle ribbon double length needed plus an additional 2-3” to make sure you have enough extra to attach to backer. And the same for the weaving ribbon.

LaToya Knighten acetate/ poly satin/ polypropylene. It’s a stiff ribbon so it makes nice creases and holds its shape. Hope that helps!
