Spirit was definitely needed on the show, she was an alt. free- spirted, hippie black girl. We hadn't had that since Freddie on A Different World. I loved her and stopped watching when the college episodes started.

Spirit was that girl! She stole every scene she was in. She comedic timing, the fashion, the sass. She was my favorite character and I did not even watch the show anymore when she left. It was obvious they wanted the show to feel less relatable to the Black community when the series was moved to the CW and Spirit much like Kim from the Parkers (well more so from Moesha) were people that girls and women in our community loved because they were so relatable.

What was so sad was how Actor FLEX ALEXANDER was also let go😮, and wasn't able to find any type of T.V. work afterwards, he alone with his Super talented Wife Singer Shanice, loss their Home, from what i read the Home was Worth about a few Millions, Shanice was a Powerhouse Talent going back to the 1980's as a Teen Vocalist, however she only Managed to put out ONE HIT SONG, i seen an episode of her on the Network T.V. One, and she mentioned that music producers simply didn't know what to do with her😮, her Voice is amazing, powerful, it would take a HELL of music Producer to Turn out the Greatness of a VOICE like HER'S Unfortunately her spouse from the T.V.show One on One disappeared from T.V. all Together HOW SAD😢.

They use to change their intro for their show every year. That last year they "snatched" our whole image. You know us park people up at Cahuenga. NGL, I couldn't stand Spirit when I first watched the pilot, due to her being billed under one name (Sicily) in the opening credits. As if she's special and everyone knows who she is. To quote George Carlin regarding singers with one name, "Get a last name!" But I actually loved her character. She always reminded me of Eartha Kitt, which I attribute to the way she always looked like she was gritting her teeth whenever she wasn't speaking. That "purring" face was such a turn on.
