i was at a auction today and some lady bought a ton of stuff and was leaving stuff behind and i saw 6 masks that were collegeville i think is the brand and or ben cooper. i said who bought these. she said i did in a lot of stuff but i dont want them you can take them. one was a spock mask. one my brother looked up and i forgot the name but it was about 40 on ebay. i got 2 of that. then i got a few others. i got to research to find out who they are. but they look more 60s than 70s. but i got them all free. they are dusty. need wiped off but one still has the price tag inside. just nuts. she was gonna toss them. i will box them up with bubble wrap and put them away to resell later. but ya i like those spirit masks too. i like the wolfman one that they have. the paint on it is cool too. i figured you would have that one too.

I've not seen a vintage Frankenstein at any Spirit that I've been to. At least I don't recall seeing one. The only black cats they had at my local Spirit were damaged, so I passed.

One year, in like 1995/96 i had my Halloween childhood trauma. I've talked about it before. As soon as I got home I immediately asked my mom "Mom, you have to take me to the store to buy a mask/costume." because the "costume" i had originally was terrible, wasn't even a costume and my "redeeming my self of the macabre" in the eyes of my teacher meant nothing and I was made to stand there in a stupid "costume" feeling absolutely humiliated. So my mom took me to one of the stores, might of been Riteaid or something like that and I looked at the mask...and I couldn't define what to get. My mom was like "Hurry up. It's getting late." and because it was the 90's; Aliens, UFOs, The X files were all the rage i chose a cool looking Grey Alien mask. I then bought some hair spray cans for my arms to paint them with. And I remember putting on the mask and it was very uncomfortable. The forehead, felt like the mask was pressing into my forehead, and ya, those straps for the back of the masks did in fact hurt and that was also the case with the alien mask. I know I dressed up as Zorro for my first Halloween, but I'm also sure I dressed up as Batman one year too, my dad said he remembers I was Batman one year. So I definitely wore more then one mask for Halloween and I definitely remember those straps causing pain. Honestly, I love the vintage Halloween stuff. Halloween masks and costumes, etc. I recently came across a video that showed vintage Halloween merch from the 90's and it showed those finger puppet Casper toys and i went "OH YA! I REMEMBER THOSE! I HAD ONE!"....I keep asking my self "Where did all my cool stuff go?! I want it back!" As for vintage masks; I'll take the Clown and Devil mask, please. Dracula one is pretty cool too. And I am definitely thinking about being a clown for one of these halloweens. All depends on how cheap everything is.

Breathing in these masks was gross back in the day. The inside of the mask would get all wet and the cold New England October air didn't help matters. The elastic band around the back would pull out some hair to.
