If the movie wasn't related to Salem's Lot then it would have been an ok flick. I think the Special effects are pretty good for a low budget film. Biggest problem is that girl Vampire out during the day and not burning up at one point. I enjoyed the old guy. Especially when he pretends to kill himself. 😂😅😂

I think the remake is worse as it is supposed to be serious. I think that Return to SL was meant to be just campy. Why build a church? Why hide in you car trunks so someone can pop it open during the day?😅😂

I'll be totally honest - it doesn't surprise me that this movie is the pits! Larry Cohen is someone I've just never really been into. His movies are sort of legendary in horror but something about his style/writing/directing/casting leaves me feeling very flat and disinterested. He usually infuses his work with some humor and commentary but its just not my thing.

This was a despicable sequel it should neve rhave been made. Micheal Moriarty's acting was the worst ever. There is nothing good to say about this one Piz.

I've been a Larry Cohen fan since I was a teenager and I've since dubbed him "The Spielberg of 42nd St." Unfortunately, like Spielberg, he had a few big misses and "Return to Salems Lot" is Larry's "Jurassic Park: Lost World."

I wish I never knew this existed. I saw this a few years ago and thought it was awful. There were people here on KZbin praising it when the Blu-ray came out recently. I knew I couldn't trust their opinions after that.

I always liked this movie and think it's just harmless 80's weirdness. It's one I didn't realize so many people disliked until the internet came out. Interestingly, the old nazi-hunter was played by Larry Cohen's next-door neighbor, director Sumuel Fuller, who a few years earlier, made his semi-autobiographical WWII movie The Big Red One with Lee Marvin, Robert Carradine, as a fictionalized version of Fuller and Mark Hamill.

It makes Jaws 4 look like a masterpiece of a movie compared but I do like terrible movies sometimes and for some reason, especially 1987 had quite a few of those this is so bad it just makes for a fun watch. I've adored it since renting the old VHS with its poor dialog and acting, it is just an awesome mess... lol

"Q the Winged Serpent" is my favorite Larry Cohen movie, and Moriarty's performance in it is brilliant. "A Return to Salem's Lot"...yikes. I like the concept: a town of vampires that has remained hidden for centuries now wants to join the modern world in some way. How they operate, how they've adapted, etc., a better movie would have had fun exploring those questions. I read somewhere Cohen filmed this back-to-back with "It's Alive 3," and it bears all the telltale signs of a cheap, rushed production.

I very much like the TV series created by Larry Cohen-The Invaders; Branded; Coronet Blue. It is unfortunate that his horror movies blow chunks, and this one is a perfect example. In fairness, I think he was reaching for a Charles Band kind of thing, but instead of grasping the gold ring, he tumbled into the crapper.
