Tried the major opening last week. After trying it and now seeing your video I can confirm that the major route is really tricky because you rely a lot on the draft and if you soir get what you need it will set you back. Going for the 1st row power gain. But I instead got two minors first turn and got the major the second to forget one of the two minor gained. It delay the major selection to second turn but it could also allow you to fallback to the minor strategy here. I de after the famous cast down briny deep. Spent the rest of the game doing damage control to avoid loosing and being able to get element thresholds. Needed 4 card play with my hand. Got it thanks to the second spirit in play at turn 7 or 8. Also went for the 3 energy gain. Would maybe try again but with diff growths path uncovered.

I plan on remaking this video series once Starlight comes to digital! I'll cover several starlight openings!

Very good video especially for someone like me who played quite a bit of SI, but has very limited experience with JE ( I mostly play digital version). I'd like to ask for two things: 1) I'd like to see another video with other possible growth openings for Starlight (majors, whatever else is viable even if less consistent), even if it would be less in depth. 2) This one is more general about gameplay videos. Is it possible for you to hover over every card in your hand (enlarged view) at least for a second each turn and possibly on gaining power step too? I am asking for it as I, and I assume a lot of less experienced players do not know all of the cards and their effects and it would make following the videos much easier.

Thanks for the feedback! Usually i try to cover the strongest opening(s) in these videos. For Starlight I’m not sure which opening is stronger and I haven’t tried to make early major builds work. Something for me to experiment with. In my play through videos, I show that this minor build always transitions to majors in the mid game despite me calling it a minor build. I choose majors based on my minor drafts. I’ll do that for my future NI guides. The plan is to do 3/4 out of the 8 NI spirits. I cover what the cards do in Part 1 Video 2 of each series, but I understand your concern. Especially if someone is just visiting for the opening video.

@@RedReVenge007 TBH, if you do not feel like it is worth showing the other builds that's ok. However showing cards in your hand is IMO crucial (especially for noobs/less experienced players), I watched quite a few SI videos and streamers are usually losing me by referring to the card by the first word of its full "name".

+1 for more hovering!

We were playing the way you described here from the start and had trouble against level 5 + adversaries. But then I read on one of your tier lists that you go for +1 card play (I might have misunderstood that) so I tried that: T1 revealed +1Card/move a presence (forgetting Peace instead of Gather) T2 reavealing and using +1 card play probably until T5 T3-5 Going bottom track T6-7 Going for reclaim and had way more success (played several times and either won or had good games). That +1 card play allowed me to use Gather to reclaim more cards without it taking the place of a good minor (if I only had 2 card plays.). Maybe I was just lucky....

I used to go for the early +1 card play growth option, but have changed that plan recently. I focus on moving along bottom track for the permanent 3 plays. By doing this, I can flex reclaim 1 more easily. I have level 6 gameplay videos posted! Have a look!

@@RedReVenge007 I know, I've seen them. But they don't help me since I'm not as good at picking the perfect Minors for the situation. And you really need that perfection with Starlight.

@@RedReVenge007 I just did that (with the build I mentioned.). Died horribly. 🤣But I see what I did wrong,. I had the right cards but didn't have the energy to pull them off at the right time. PS. I'm not trying your build since I've been doing that all the time with Starlight before you mentioned this build and was losing while feeling frustrated. With this build at least I'm having fun dying! 😂

You mentioned your fellow player's build that goes for the +1 Energy / Gain a Card option. What does their opening presence placement look like? T1/T2 place presence to get to that option, T3 go for the Reclaim Half?
@RedReVenge0072 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure how the build works since I've never tried it. T1: Growths: [Presence, Energy, Move presence] - Presence from +1 energy / gain a card option. Play Reimag + Shape. T2: Growths: [Presence, Energy/Move Presence, Gain Card + Energy] - Presence from +1 Energy / Gain a card option. Element choice is ?. Usually, the player grabs a major here, but I think that's largely dependent on what minors you picked from Reimag + Shape. T3: ??? My first thoughts would be to go for 3 plays. Not sure when the player wants to dip into reclaim half option! I think alot of times you'll be placing presence, Card gain + Energy, and reclaim 1. Hope this helps.

@@RedReVenge007 You were dead on: I found Sarusta's posts in the Starlight thread under the Discord's spirit-discussion forum: Looks like from T3 onward they go for plays if the Major they drafted was cheap, Energy if the Major was expensive. Apparently they really like to tech towards the Sun innate as well. Also just nice to see how many viable build paths there are for this spirit. Eric and team did an amazing job with it. :D

i do not understand how to not run out of energy after 3 card plays unlocked. you can pick a major and do super powerfull move. but then you stuck with 1 (max2) energy per turn. can’t replay that major. if next unlock is 4 card plays you run out of energy even faster… and i am novice player who can play only stone and keeper well :D
@RedReVenge0072 жыл бұрын
You don’t need to play the major every turn. You play the major when you can squeeze it in as a way to help propel the game forward. Part of drafting is looking for cheap 0s as well as the energy boon power cards. In my play through videos, I show how I manage a tight energy budget.

@@RedReVenge007 thanks. i needed to play major only twice to win the game. i constantly afraid to play major cards if i can’t get 6+ energy per turn. but it is not needed. able to play so many minors + trigger spirit abilities is amazing.
