It’s important to learn about our heritage and pass that knowledge onto our children. If you Can speak and teach your children creole all the better. I know a lot of our families did not teach us the language. But we do not want it to be lost and our own culture to be longs amongst American Cabo Verdeans.

My great grandfather also came from Brava island to New Bedford in around that time. I wonder if they took the same boat! 😱
