+Omar Saad from my understanding it means that Bran can influence the past through his visions. I believe when what's-her-face was yelling 'warg into Hodor' Bran attempted to do it in the vision causing past Hodor to have a fit and become how he is. That way Bran can write the future or possibly rewrite it by warging into his visions. I could be wrong though...

LeXxleloxx I used to be like you. I’m by no means a pro, but I can beat the AI on hardest difficulty. The key is to practice. I probably lost 25-30 matches in a row against the AI, but every match I improved. Some hints. Scout! Knowing where your resources are as well as collecting sheep is very helpful. Every minute you spend looking for a boar or your berries is a minute the AI is building strength. You need to know what the terrain looks like so you can plan your defenses around it. Also, don’t be afraid to wall yourself in like Spirit did. Even if you are merely setting up houses for the AI to destroy, it is better than losing villagers. It’s also a good early warning system, so you can make counter units or get your troops there to defend. Practice streamlining villager production. The game should be called Age of Resources. The healthier your economy is, the better army you can field. Learning how to keep constant villager production is very useful. I still start games with the sole purpose of practicing the start of the game, and play until I hit feudal. Keep at it! You’ll be surprised how good you get.

(nvm its been solved apparently by Google's AI) It does not only have to be "better" than any human; "A solved game is a game whose outcome (win, lose, or draw) can be correctly predicted from any position, assuming that both players play perfectly." :P
@mrjakkiebah8 жыл бұрын
If AoE was "solved" by an AI, it could calculate which civ would always beat another civ if both played perfectly. However, the map is a variable and thus no civ has a 100% guarantee of beating one other civ. So an AI would only be able to predict a win or lose if it knows the exact layout of the map and civilizations facing each other. Probably a gazillion times more possible moves on AoE than on Go or Chess and thus a lot more complicated to solve. Definitely possible in the future tho.

What I don't understand about walls is why is it when you put down a gate it doesn't give you back your stone from the stone wall segments that you replaced. As at about 16:00 minutes in, he built a stone wall, if you watch his resources after he puts down his gate, he still pays the full cost, even though none of the wall segments had been worked on. Why didn't the developers just have something that causes the resources to be refunded after someone puts down a gate over unbuilt walls?

Good watch!! I couldn’t get to see which Hunnic king was the AI? Because each AI king plays a different strategy from the other. The moment I noticed Hussars I knew that Hunnic king had gold issues (prolly wasted on siege and h archers). Must be because it was a relatively mild King focused on booming rather than attacking. Because Hunnic Kings typically despatch Paladins and not so many horse archers. And among the AI enemies, Huns aren’t that strong on the hardest level. The toughest are the Persians and the Slavs. Try playing against them- it’s very tough sometimes. I don’t remember the Slavic AI king names but The Persian AI king Shah Rukh is particularly very tough. Other Persian AI kings like Hormidz, Bahram etc aren’t as tough as Shah Rukh. The other king Shah Takash is tough too but not as much as Shah Rukh I think it’s programmed that way for each AI Civ! That is, varying levels of aggressiveness for each AI king. Persians in general are tough given that their villagers are trained faster in the dark age itself - possibly one of the best economy bonus in the game - because they’re ahead by default on economy. And they send heavy siege and Paladins as well as War elephants. Persians have always troubled me and I always play against the Persians- for maximum AOE!

Learned a lot. I enjoy the aesthetics so much that I don't place buildings just randomly. And that's how I doom every single time. After watching your video now I'm able to win Hard with AI. Thank you very much.

It's programmed to make around 120 villagers so try the same thing with 200 population limit and you can't overboom it anymore.

Late to the party but great insight into your gameplay, very hands-on, making it easy to learn. Thanks for the vid!

The AI is certainly better than with the original game; I do enjoy the battle. The AI adapts quickly, counters the type of troops you are using, and always sends troops to counter your attack, which you can use against it with distracting attacks. Still, you did great; I often spend 90 minutes or even 2 hours on hardest, probably because I use the gold dependent Mongols and have no trade. Nice video, Spirit.

In generell your macro is really good. I wonder what league you would play in Starcraft 2... I think somewhere between Diamond and Master. Here are some things I realized on your gameplay, that you could improve on (imo) 1. You did stack a lot of unit production. It takes ressouces away that you could use somewhere else for example on more production buildings. Therefore you could build your Army faster/better. I suggest never more then 2 Units for each building. 2. You wanted to kill that scout with a worker, yet i think the information he gets nor the ressouces that the scout costs would justify to missed working time. I would suggest to stop to try this, because I think the chances are kinda low vs good players. 3.: You walled in with your late Production builds and *wasted* space and ressources with build houses randomly. Why dont you wall in with your very first houses? PS: Also for real games, maybe go for some proxy houses for scouting reasons (so you see when you can harass your opponent) (NA/EU Master in Starcraft 2 :))

Walling is NEVER about stopping your enemy. Its about having an advantage. (his meele cant hit your range units) and giving yourself time to react when he wants to harss your eco.

StarCraft and AOE are both RTS, but they have many differences, mistakes that you are talking about are huge in SC, but here, you don't really think about that. And I tell you what, only a really small fraction of people would want to perfect their AOE2 skill. And these tips are specifically designed to do that. What I'm saying is AOE is nowhere near as competitive as SC, so people don't really care)

Why don't you game at 4k? It gives a huge advantage because you can see much, much more area at once.
@SpiritOfTheLaw8 жыл бұрын
yeah....let's blame my mediocre gameplay on my monitor not having enough resolution ;)
@jorelldye43468 жыл бұрын
Lol I doubt anyone considers your play mediocre. I was just wondering if you realized that the game doesn't scale (which is a very good thing :D). I got a 1440p monitor and my mind was blown. Then I found I could display 4k on it and I all but messed myself. I could see my whole base in one screen.

+Spirit Of The Law do you have any tips for like killing paladins quickly even with no great spear men like habridiers
@tntisfun57368 жыл бұрын
this is so wrong. the higher the resolution gets the harder it is to micro.
@jorelldye43468 жыл бұрын
TNTisFUN Lol I do not agree with you. You do need a good size 4k monitor and good mouse settings, but that's all. 40" 4k is optimal.

Wow you're really good. I would've crumbled after that second attack, but the fact you can micromanage so well and come ontop after being on the back foot? damn.
