When i started it was a pocket knife my uncle gave me. I carved my name in every tree i sat under while hunting in east oregon in the white barked trees. And then a cuzin showed me the littel people faces in the wrinkeled up bark on the cotton woods.we carved faces in the bark on the trees while camping and left them on the trees. We called them the littel people. Then i went to xmas ornaments with a carving knife i found in a box of junk from a estate sale.i cut willow limbs to carve into snow men trees and santas. People got them as gifts. I always had a sack full of them carved up. Then one day i had a heart attack . Was so board i had to do something so i started improving a lot with carving and have not stoped full time daily working at it in some stage and or level . Got into bone annd antler some metal and even tried a litle glass but the rocks and bone is what got me into the rotory tools and polishing. This artistic craft has so much to learn i dont know if i will ever stop learning new and better ideas daily from others.

Cool pencils. Cool idea about stickin them in a flower pot. I've done a couple with knives and didn't know what to do with them so I tied a string around the top to hang them. More good ideas from you know who. And I'm not talkin about the tub talkover. Yep, it's all Jordy's fault. Hi Jordy.

I give my doctor a carved rolling pin each year , in turn he gives it to a group of medical people that have a auction each year to raise money for a group of boys from africa that want to be doctors. It helps them get there schooling paid for..warms the heart. The last one pulled a 600 dollar bid. I have also carved 2 people custom walking canes and gave them away.
