I have chronic asthma, ADHD, anxiety and depressions. I always feel like yoga and spirituality is the only solution to me. Also, I'm a writer and when I had an idea of writing my first novel I knew nothing about spirituality and I used to be quite atheist. I got into spirituality because of my struggle with attention span, depression and focus. Spirituality have given me so many answers and cleared so many misconceptions like death, universe, energy, soul and evolution but I'm yet to be clear about god but till now what I understood I feel like we all are god already, it's just that we have get rid if this maya to get into higher consciousness.

The Law of Karma is most misunderstood law of nature. Not all human sufferings are because of some bad previous Karma. Some sufferings, pain, obstacles and difficulties are selected before birth in order to learn some difficult lessons. It is a fact that humans learn the most through sufferings than through comforts. But there is another reason which I wish to describe here as that applies to the suffering through cancer in case of Sri Ramakrishna. Some saints select some disease because through disease the vibrations of the physical body are raised and one develops occult powers. Many occultists had some kind of disease or ailment for this reason.

Thank you. But I want to point out the following: 1. 'When Sri Ramakrishna attained His first samadhi in His previous birth, He got rid of all His past karmas'-- this idea seems meaningless to me. Ishwara incarnates as Avatara and He is not bound by karma in any birth that has to be washed by attaining samadhi. Any record that Rama and Krishna ever attained samadhi BTW? This is baseless. 2. You have probably not read all the authentic literature on Sri Ramakrishna and may be many of these if not most are still in Bengali. The following views are there: A. According to Sri Ramakrishna as narrated by Sri Sarada Devi, this throat cancer was a result of His elder brother's curse. Sri Sarada Devi also told that this disease was to unite the disciples of Sri Ramakrisha for forming the Ramakrishna Math. B. Sri Sarada Devi also narrated that Sri Ramakrishna told Her that this pain was a result of taking on Girish Ghosh's sins. C. As per Swami Premananda, this disease was caused by sins of so many devotees. D. Sri Ramakriahna also told that this disease was to filter the real devotees and remove thoe who came for wordly gains. E. Sri Ramakrishna also expresed a view that while doing His piritual practices, He used ill words for Divine Mother and this could be a punishment for that. Also He threw away the kavacha given by His Guru to protec His body and this pain could be a result of that wrong action. It seems therefore that there were many causes of this disease and we can not fsingle out any one. If you need the references, please let me know. But you could get most of these in 'Sri Ramakrishner Antyalila' by Swami Prabhananda, one present vicepresident of the Ramakrishna Math and published by Udbodhan of Ramakrishna Mission. BTW if you believe that He was an incarnation of God, then could you find out cause of His disease? To a devotee believing in Avatarhood, all this would seem just Divine Play as Sri Krishna says in the Gita. Ramakrishna Paramhansa was a great soul. I think what he meant when he said the same being who come as Rama and Krishna came back as Ramakrisna meaning his acknowledgement of his oneness with them or the atman that reside in him is no different from the Supreme Brahman. Coming to the concept of Karma, every man has free will and always committing karma. When it come to diseases or misfortunes in life, like Didi was saying not everything is karma. You could be bless with a healthy body due to past karma, but if you start abusing your body by eating the wrong foods or drinking too much alcohol and you get liver cancer or diabetes that is not bad karma, that's your own doing. Same with life, all your hard work pay out successful but if you made some poor decisions afterwards and you end being ruined, that also your doing. Sometimes destiny play a part but not 100 percent. 90 percent is man doing, 10 percent is destiny. That's my opinion.

As a reasonable follower of sprituality, i am not convinced by this. No one can take any one's sin, if this so, then perhaps old one who has lived his life can get of young one's. Karma is the sole cause. Have u heard story of Dhritarashtra and Bhishma where Krishna itself said that all ur suffering is bcz of ur past deeds. Gita is biggest ocean of knowledge mankind ever get and it talks about only karma. You are picky only a line of it. So when it is so complex,than why u cant interpret that a small portion of his past deed remained which burnt now. BTW, i am great admirer of Shri R K P but can not go beyond Gita.

A guru takes on his/her disciple's sins only if they make a determination that doing so will help in the disciple's spiritual development. Grace of the guru is there to assist the disciple in other ways too...sometimes it can decrease the karmic effects so one has to go through lesser troubles. Ofcourse the guru must be a genuine sage. Such sages are quite rare these days.

We in our present life create the conditions for most diseases: over crowded unsanitary cities help spread many diseases (malaria, dengue are rampant because of these factors). We then follow bad eating habits, we have no self-control, we dont exercise due to laziness, we have mental tension, anxiety, worry, we can also by chance inherit bad genes from parents, there is environmental pollution, if a person is very fearful, they can weaken prana shakti and become susceptible to catching diseases. Many many causes for which past karma cannot be blamed

It is not necessary for you to accept the Avatarhood of Sri Ramakrishna, Hinduism gives every person the right to select their ishta, however we must be careful not to put down the ishta of other Hindus. This is a great disservice we do to our religion. Also blasphemy is an Islamic concept. It has nothing to do with Hinduism. Hinduism promotes freedom of mind and thought. You may not be aware but Avatarhood of Sri Ramakrishna was attested to based on the scriptures by many learned pundits of his time, including Vaishnav Charan the great scholar and spiritual guru belonging to the Vaishnav sect. Also this idea that the scriptures list out all future incarnations is quite false. Why should they? This is a false position. Hindu scripture have never make the claim that "they have listed out ALL POSSIBLE Avatars of the future i.e. all avatars for the next millions of years of earths history." If they have please point to me, which exact shloka, in which book. This is something people are fabricating about the scriptures, just to promote their own beliefs and to show to other Hindus that the version of God that they worship alone is the best. This is pure fanaticism and not real bhakti. The scriptures in fact list out certain signs that mark out an Avatar and they do this ONLY because they are NOT listing out the names of all possible Avatars of the future. If the scriptures did infact list out all possible avatars of the future, they would not bother to highlight the signs (9 spiritual moods) which mark out an Avatar. Show less

It is said that Lord Jesus took upon Himself the sins of all people of this world and hence died on the Cross. Therefore , all people living in this world after the Crucifixion have no more sins. Jesus also was an avatar. Hence, the Avtars that take birth in this world after the Crucifixion of Lord Jesus have no more sins to take upon themselves. Therefore, cancer of Sri Ramakrishna and Ramana Maharshi , piles of Adi Sankaracharya and many other diseases of many Mahatmas require further logical explanation. Why did the consort of Lord Rama, Sita, suffer so much humiliation, even after proving her chastity by Agnipariksha ? Was it due to her bad karmas? Writings in some books by some disciples of Mahatmas may not be considered an ultimate authority or Apta vakya on such delicate matters? What is your valuable opinion?

Yours is a good question. Jesus took upon the sins of his disciples - but only their sins in that time. Christians grossly misinterpret Jesus' sacrifice to mean that he has freed them from all future sins. This is the mistake they make. In the time Jesus lived, he did redeem many misguided people, but for those who came 2000 ys after, to conclude that he has forgiven their sins too is a misinterpretation. Even when Jesus forgave their sins, he did not liberate them from the cycle of birth and death. Redemption of sins gave people a place in heaven, but from there all souls take birth again to continue their onward journey. Great avatars do not bestow liberation on the undeserving. There is no free lunch. We have to work out our own salvation. Avatars come to show the way and to ease our passage. Earth is a realm of suffering (3 gunas sattwa, rajas, tamas dominate). Avatars like Jesus, Ramakrishna, Sita all suffered voluntarily - they did not need to, but did it to show people a way out of the suffering or to redeem their sins. They are beyond all 3 gunas, but since they choose to incarnate in this realm, they accepted its limitations. Also we are scared of suffering, but not Avatars - they are the bravest of the brave - their bravery and courage far exceeds that of any of our bravest soldiers.

When you tell the laws of karma are complex and can't be decipherable, it is because when people ask questions like the one i just asked, it becomes difficult to answer without contradicting your own theory of karma. That is why it is called the great undecipherable theory. Whereas in reality there is absolutely no proof of SOUL, REINCARNATION etc. I have personally seen filthy people get way after doing heinous deeds, dying peaceful deaths. There isn't such a thing called karma. Everyone goes through a little bit of sorrow, some moments of joy. That is life. Stop pretending like you have it all figured out. You are drawing v erroneous and childish conclusions. Will of guru to absolve a person's sins is also in play. A god realized Guru is not foolish. I have discussed in many places that nothing in life is free. And guru does not bestow grace unless disciple has developed capacity to not commit the same sins again. If a person is a rapist, the guru will certainly not be absolving him of his sins if he is going to go right back to criminal life. Patrata of disciple is critical. So if one has no patrata...no amount of touching a sage's feet will help.

You are spreading very wrong information. Karma cannot be transferred. If I have done something bad only I have to suffer or enjoy it. Karma is not a thing which is given to others. Just stop spreading such baseless things. Why does Ramakrishna not reveal this openly in public? There are many spiritual Gurus who don't explain such things. I don't know why don't they explain it. I hate all spiritual gurus who don't take efforts to explain and arrive at one particular lesson. Some says karma is transferrable and some says it is not. At least Ramkrishna should born in everyone's house so that everyone would get his guidance. Why swami vivekanand only should enjoy such spritual guidance? I am not as intelligent as swami vivekanand but I want to follow his path. Even if I am having strong will, many obstacles are coming in my path. I don't know how to overcome them. I need Ramkrishna to guide me. But he is nowhere. It's very easy to believe on God when someone shows you God by putting his leg on your chest like ramkrishna did to viveknand. But if I want to find God I have to rub my ass off. This is very very big injustice. 😪😪😪

Yes this logic is correct because the scriptures define God or Bhagwan to be very beautiful and there is no one compatible to his beauty as can be read from the scriptures about Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Sri Ram so show this Ramkrishna is not got him maybe sage

To realize the true beauty of a God-realized guru one needs spiritual eyes. If a person is suffering from cancer, will he go on the "looks" of the doctor OR on his/her talents, skill and expertise to remove the cancer cell by surgery? Focusing on the outer form is a purely materialistic outlook, not spiritual.
