Spirituality vs Holiness ‘You can’t be truly spiritual without being religious’

Great discussion! It is always interesting to hear different perspectives, but it is so beautiful discovering that the underlying message - the core message is the same. I think that is it! Some Christians seek the gift/fame/edifying of self rather than truly seeking God, and not just in C&S, but in all other denominations, even outside Christianity too. As discussed, it's neither or/either/against. Spirituality vehicles Holiness. We have 3 parts to us as our Sis. Olaoluwa mentioned - the spirit, the soul, and the body. If our spirit is not aligned, the spirit of God cannot transcend into the physical (the body), because the soul (which vehicles connections from the spirit to the body) which is the warehouse to deliver information to the body is also disconnected. If there is a disorder in the warehouse, things are lost in translation, misconstrued, misplaced, lost, forgotten, and so on. Whereas if there is order, obedience, and a system, the body has no choice but to follow suit. Agreed, dying to self every day; intentionally starving the flesh that it has no choice but to rely on the spirit. Main thing is the heart (soul), if that has not been changed/transformed/renewed, then anything else is pointless, because the heart (soul) is where transformation takes place and it is what the body answers to. In the bible it says the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak - meaning whatever is fed to the flesh is what it will crave and desire as it has no choice to accept what the soul is feeding it. The spirit is willing, meaning God wants that connection with us. It's a personal 1:1 intentional connection made for that sole purpose. Spiritual disconnection is what causes our soul to look at other sources and means to fuel it. Our soul needs to be fueled. That is why we have to be careful as Christians on what we consume in every aspect. That is what creates the urge or thirst to be connected/rooted with and in something. Jesus said it in John 4:14, "But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life". Towards the end, it mentions that the water Jesus will give us becomes a well of water, meaning it's not just a one-time transformation. It is constant and continuous - continuously drinking from Him to create that well within us. A lot of Christians think that some practices are one-time, and that's it. I am new in Christ etc now I must be filled with the Holy Spirit. The journey is not a sprint or marathon. It is continuously never-ending because even in eternal life, it will still be continuing. They worship in Heaven as we do here on Earth. They constantly seek God in Heaven as we do here. In our Lords prayer, it states,'Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven', so the will God has for those in Heaven is the same as on Earth. So, this journey is to prepare us for our life in eternity. May God continue to be merciful to us, and we are merciful to each other. May the Holy Spirit continue to minister unto us and strengthen us in our journeys. May we continue to have the desire, love, and strength to seek the Lord in Spirit and Truth.
