The thing with modern spirituality is, its very personal and individual. Many start a journey by accepting our ignorance or encountering something that their beliefs cannot explain, we accept we know nothing and for many, undergo trial and error until we experience something personal and then base our beliefs on our own experiences. We all experience everything differently and its likely the answer which many seek is so unfathomable that we all experience it in our own unique ways. I believe this is why modern spirituality is more popular. If you cant accept or understand something you don't have to. If you cant get behind a religion or myth, you don't have to. Furthermore, it is all without judgement, something many religions are based around! Its about being open minded and finding what's right for you whilst accepting that other people interpret 'everything' differently.

Mmm.... Christianity is a relationship with God you can choose not to believe and then you're choosing not to have a relationship with God. Which is perfectly fine, at its core Christianity is basically recognizing the human condition of being imperfect not being God and submitting to the fact that we are prideful creatures which need a higher being. This is showcased throughout the old testament and New testament with God leading the people into good decisions where people are innately sinful creatures prideful people who are looking out for themselves where God is looking out for the whole perfectly. Having knowledge of perfection that we cannot reach because we are not God. So where you're saying that we are looking for purpose and the reason why we are here; Christianity is finding purpose in/with God. It doesn't matter why we're here or not, we are here. - Though that is also explained in the Bible. I'm not ignoring that you're saying that belief is faulty but we believe things all day long we're based on believing that certain events are going to happen certain ways with no proof to them. Believing in Jesus is accepting the fact that we are not perfect that we choose his way instead of our own which is just simply to love one another, loving the Lord with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind Knowing that you are not God. Are you God? - We sure give a lot of credit to the knowledge we obtain especially in the world full of knowledge and just like you said we don't know everything so that we can explain on deeper levels and explain things that we can't see such as an atom why would it be so obscene to believe in a God. - Because you can't know the tone that I have over comment section That's a very bland open to interpretation willing to accept other people's opinions tone of voice. My husband doesn't believe in God either and that's perfectly fine. We get the choice to believe in God, we also get the choice to believe that there are spiritual things out there and if they help us we might not understand why they do, It doesn't make it b*******. It can actually help people through phases in their lives that they don't know how to help themselves with. Such as meditating. It can help calm and relax you it can help you figure out things in your life without talk therapy that some of us are just not ready to face. There's always two sides of a story and nothing is a black and white there's always a gray areas, there's always going to be people who take things way too far. You're right, we are looking for some sort of connection but to throw spirituality or religion out the door of your life and lend yourself to what you consider logic..mmm.. then in a way logic is then your spirituality. It's your reasoning for life and it's Just. Your. Perspective...and we're not all going to have the same perspective. Right?

"living standards improve every year"? Seriously? The middle class in the USA is the smallest it has been since the 1930's. Life in the 1950's was much more plentiful for the average white American (I am not racist. I am just saying that the majority had a much more prosperous life back then). Well tell this to all the people that have Astral projected or died and had a near death experience. People even deal with ghost at hunted houses. I my self have dealt with spirits before. So there is clearly a spirit world. I have the feeling you just believe when we die that is it, we no longer exist.
