Note - there's nearly no dialogue for the entire short film because the Space Marines have their vox/communicators inside their helmets. If you're standing right next to one, all you'll hear is a little click as the transmission begins (per Helsreach). When the Inquisitorial Sanctioned Psyker breaks his attention from his link with the cogitator and the alien sphere on the ship he shouts as loud as he can "RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY!" This lapse of attention dooms him as the sphere starts pushing in, starting the symptoms of possession/becoming a gateway, etc. He starts chanting at a volume louder than the most loud he can voluntarily be.

They are actually talking to each other, just over "VOX" (W40K's version of radio chatter) You can hear their muffled noises when they talk to each other, but the creator made it that because the "camera's POV" is outside their armour/helmet you can't hear them speak. Also because this is made by ONE GUY, it's to save having to find voice actors, as he's said himself that he's not very good at it. He did the voices that are in the animation, and everything is said is super muffled and heavily distorted (like the chaotic aliens speaking to each other via the warp/telepathy, that the Inquisitor is eaves dropping on).

Some thing that I love about Astartes is the way that this space marine chapter wages war. They do so at such a calm, foward steady pace stopping for nothing. They really make war seem like their profession. No emotion behind what they do because it's just a job for them.

Just for a little context, the Space Marines are firing rocket propelled rounds that explode on impact that are the said to he the size of a monster can. So the fact they can hold them rock steady and control them on full auto gives you a hint of their strength...... Also in cannon the weight of thier armor is about 2000 lbs

Trivia: The adversary and the orbs are homebrew. They don't have a conterpart in canon 40k. It's more like something that COULD exist in 40k rather than something that DOES exist. It's open for interpretation if they are Chaos forces, or Xenos, or illegal AI since the keepers are seem to be constructs. (For those not so deep into 40k, AI is strongly forbidden after the war against machines in the dark age of technology. A full blown Terminator situation XD) It also takes inspiration of the movie Event Horizon, where the warp core became sentient. Event Horizon is largely debated to be set in the 40k universe in the fandom. Likewise Doom. Those 3 franchises are loosely connected in some head canons.

The laser canon damaged the space marine, hence why he ducked around the corner. If you look in the background behind the giant gold body, you'll see more golden heads with external spines. Probably awaiting more host bodies. The man in the robe is Part of a group called The Inquisition (demon hunters by the symbol on the back). His psychic abilities allowed him to listen in on the two spheres but thats a 2way link allowing possession. They shot him down before he could become a demonhost (consider this a Warhammer 40k exorcism). The dark force that grabbed the glowing being holding the marines was the last vestiges of the psychic freeing them. Even in death they serve the Emperor.. Welcome to a grim dark universe that hates humanity....

In it this was the triple crossbar capital I with the skull, specifically Ordo Hereticus (though given the regular changes throughout the rulebooks, I'm not spending a nation's GDP just to keep up with all of it. ). I believe Ordo Malleus looked hammer-ish and Ordo Xenos had weird little curly bits. Whatever, movie still looked cool.

One thing I've learned being interested in 40k's Inquisition, is to not trust out of hand any of their wikis out of hand. Lotta stuff on there that people just made up. Basically half cyborg with the ability to control/talk with the machines used by the ship he was in/on. That 'orb' basically started to take control over him..... so the Astarties made sure the could 'not' be controlled, in the quickest and most efficient way possible.

Many things wrong there, Tech priests would have the Cog and skull of the Mechanicus he clearly had the Inquisitorial stylized " I" of the Inquisition. He was also a Psyker, so NOT a tech priest as they aren't psykers. Normal folks are capable of using tech you know....

I'd actually be shocked if none did. :) "Normal people" using Tech in 40k generally is relegated to replaced body parts or the like, or typing on keypads. Not direct data-ports like those cables were. Thats more along the line of Tech-priests or Moderatii on Titans. :)

That's Las weapons (the red beam weapons seen at the barricade before the rocket launcher fires). Plasma weapons include the pistol the main character uses; extremely powerful, but prone to overheating (sometimes violently).

Adeptus astartes one of the most powerful modified humans to ever exist they are forged from the finest armour and the finest life support they have multiple organs and they can gain memories from the things they eat and when their body is too much to be repaired and their a great asset by the primarch they will have a new body called the "dreadnought" inside the sarcophagus they are hooked to multiple life supports and basically live for eternity until they die of battle

So for the question at 6:43 on how tall and big they are. Space marines at least First Born are the height of a ship cargo container, that would 9ft 6in tall and about 274cm tall. with being half the with of one, another example on how big these guys are they can look over irl tanks. The M1 Abrams being 8ft tall (US Main battle tank).

In terms of pure rules, the most user friendly game mode is probably Age of Sigmar 4e's Spearhead. Essentially a more refined version of 40k 10e's Combat Patrol rules. Of course, there's also always One Page Rules.

the Spheres are the protective shells of Warp based entities because Real Space is just a toxic to warp beings as the Warp just is dangerous to humans when entering unprotected so in a way the Spheres are like a Submersible

Space Marines are crazy, it would take basically two Vaders to realistically beat 1 SM, they have 2-3 hearts, two sets of strengthened and enhanced lungs, 4 kidneys, these guys are units and even a modern day .50 BMG is rendered practically small arms fire to an SM. (Two Vaders is approx. since a lot of SMs fight Psykers leagues above Vader)

I'm seeing with the hype of the Space Marine 2 game everyone has been reacting to Astartes. I've been playing the table top game since 5th edition. So roughly 15 years. I got a bot interest in it somce one of my plder cousin been playinh it since the mid/late 90s. I highly recommend the youtube channel "Bricky" for his explanational videos into the world that's Warhammer 40k. Like his video "What is Warhammer?" nobody really gets this but the ultra marines in this speak to each other in their helmets thats why you cant hear them but see their actions reflect what is being said so when you hear the inquisitor through the helmet he is really yelling. when the inquisitor is killed and the other marine is sent off the next seen we see the marine react as if he just got told something then they get sucked into the orb which is a portal to the warp.
