Holy shit, that’s really good, man. Can’t stress enough how well the orquesta has been written. The work with the brass section is truly marvellous and this has honestly turned into one of my favourite pieces. Just followed you in Spotify, now if you excuse me, I’m gonna go and SIMP over your work.

Thank you so much Becky :). I'm so glad you like this piece. Your comment only encourages me to make more stuff like this with you in mind. I'll make sure you're one of the first to hear any of my new pieces :). Hope you are doing well 😊

Really nice piece! As for Cinematic Studio Brass, I'm wondering how you mixed it. It sounds very center-heavy compared to the Spitfire stuff. Did you use a lot of the close mics? I want to get CSB next month but I'm concerned it won't mix well with BBCSO, etc.
@SamuelStalderOST3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Drew! Yeah, CSB definitely does have a closer feel than all the Spitfire stuff. In this situation, I'm only using the standard mix. You do have the option to make it feel more far back by adjusting the mic positions. I can't due to RAM issues. The main reason I got this library is due to how easy it is to use compared to the Spitfire Symphonic series. Of course, it won't blend naturally with the Spitfire stuff since they're in two different rooms. Also Spitfire has more reverb on their libraries than Cinematic Studio. With lots of mixing you can pull it off. I tried to do it with my 'Horton Hears a Who' mockup. That piece has adjusted mic positions to make it feel bigger. I think it worked in that case :). Of course, if ever you'd like me to demo some stuff for you, I can help with that :). Maybe send over something made with bbcso and I'll add some CSB over it or I can mockup something that has both Spitfire Symphonic Strings (for example) and CSB. My contact is samjstalder@gmail.com. Hope this helps!

This was a pretty nice piece. As someone still learning orchestration, I appreciate the breakdown.

Thank you for your kind words! I will be doing more stuff like this in the future, but with more notable composers than me haha, so do stick around if you want to see more breakdowns.

You literally do a hard quantize but it’s still sound really good, how you do it?
@SamuelStalderOST3 жыл бұрын
Yup, quantise everything for when I make the sheet music score. How do I do it? I guess lots of time composing and mocking up stuff haha. Gives you a good sense of orchestration.

@@SamuelStalderOST but for sure it won’t trigger any legato right?
@SamuelStalderOST3 жыл бұрын
@@anggawibisono2621 No, it won't as it's all short articulations. If I was making a longer piece with legato patches, I would bounce the legato mix before editing and quantising the MIDI to be suitable for orchestration.
