Discovering Spitfire Labs was one of the few highlights being stuck indoors for the majority of 2020. I haven't updated it in over a year and they are still bringing out new libraries. I didn't know Labs also has a mandolin sound one of the most difficult sounds to synthesize. Another good thing about Labs is that it's quite easy on your hard drive space. BBCSO Discovery is another really good free library to complement Labs. The sound effects are also very useful. You can never have too many music box sounds although I think that one is an older library.

There’s no video, just a still, but you can see it on my channel (where I drop random stuff to share with family and friends). I’m using the mod wheel to open the filter cutoff as the song goes on.

I "followed along" by having the Spitfire LABs app open, and when you opened a library, I could decide if I wanted it, download it, a try it out and play along with you! What fun! These are excellent libraries and free is AMAZING! I know they have bunch of subscription options too so they are pretty flexible. It is now July 2024 and Spitfire has graphically re-designed their products and made downloading a breeze. The new interface is WAY better than the washed out one (lt. grey type on a white background - as seen here -- really???) they had been using. It is now bold, bright, and colorful, a pleasure to use. And, no more squinting to figure out what you are trying to see! This is a wonderful time for musicians and musician wannbes. So much MUSIC!

Spitfire Audio LABS has been out for some time now. I have all the ones I think are useful and fun to play around with. Their BBCSO Discover is also free if you 'first create an account' then fill out a long questionnaire. Lastly, you will need to wait for 14 days before they will send you the link. If you are into composing orchestral pieces then this is a great free option to start anyone off. Aside from this are the Originals series libraries for 29 dollars. Two stand out the most...Intimate and Frozen that offer orchestral composing and layering a complimentary helping hand. I felt the same way when I heard them the first time too..lol.

Hi Woody, Long time no see. Hope you are well. I just paused the video to say how much I really like those synth strings. Going to watch the rest now.. Textural pads = Very Tubeway Army. There are some real beauties there. I particularly like the Electric Guitars.

Amazing sounds and I didn't expect to see the Kross here as the midi controller.

I think that's the only one Woody has with him that's not in storage.
