Vignesh, do we need Rohtang Pass permit for this itinerary? Since we are not crossing it from Manali. Also, if I am planning to go to Leh as per this plan, i.e from Gramphu, do I need Rohtang pass permit? Also, how do we know if the Kunzum la pass is open or not. Cannot me stranded at the pass on the way to Manali right. Thanks in advance.

You only need Rohtang pass permit if you go via Manali. You do not need the permit if you are going to Leh from Spiti, since you will not go via Rohtang Pass, and you will take diversion from Keylong. Kunzum La pass is typically open from March end to October end. Occasionally it can close if there is any work going on, but generally it's closed for winter.

Good question Anand bro. You don't need to book places in advance. Chandratal camp you might need to book in advance as there is demand but otherwise all others can be booked in an ad-hoc manner.
