Nice video. Can't think of a more epic setting for a dogfight than "Spit" vs "109" over London. It also shows the challenge these early Spitfire pilots were facing trying to do enough damage on their opponent with their relatively small machine guns. An auto-cannon would often wreck an opponent in a few shots, where with the machine guns you needed to have the luck to hit some vital part of the plane, to really affect it.

Wow!!!! Great. I loved it. If a spit followed a 109 in a dive it's carberator would cut out because it is not fuel injected like the 109. The spit would have to invert in the dive to keep fuel flow. Sad part about the MK 1. Spit. Still is my favorite plane.

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 and the Supermarine Spitfire is the best fighter plane rivalry in WW2, next to the Wildcat/Corsair/Hellcat and the A6M Zero. Also at 1:38, there’s the Tower of London. This game is so brilliant.

My grandmother as a kid watched a spitfire shoot down a 109 right above her house! She also saw a stuka about to bomb a bridge only to pull out because there were kids playing cricket on it. No joke!

That low down never happened and Me109s only had fuel enough for few minutes over London after which they'd head back to France and be picked off over the Channel.... good fun though1

Exactly. In the real world fight them for 10 minutes over London, then disengage. any not shot down are going down in the channel before they make landfall in Abbeville or Cap Griz Nez

Die 109 hatte als Bewaffnung eine 2cm Kanone und zwei 13mm Mg.Die Spit hatte nur acht 7,9mm Browning Mg.Die 109 konnte Loopings fliegen und sich somit hinter den Gegner setzen.Noch Fragen?Ich denke nein.

Das ist Quatsch.Die 109 hat einen Einspritzmotor.Damit war sie der Spitfire deutlich überlegen.Diese war zwar insgesamt etwas wendiger,aber in der Steigleistung war die 109 besser als der Engländer.
