Splash Mountain Construction Update - More Signs Removed, Sawing/Cutting & More | Walt Disney World

Here’s is another construction update over at Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. More scaffolding was being added around the drop when I was there. A couple more signs have been removed, with only the Lightning Lane Splash Mountain decal remaining. It also seemed like some sawing/cutting was happening on the outdoor part of the ride before the very first drop. I couldn’t tell what was being cut, but you could see a substantial amount of dust flying in the air. This was filmed on February 27th 2023 from around 2:45pm - 3:15pm

Yeah I still think it was a baaaddd Decision and move though on their part though ...... I really think ... that's a favorite ride to like 22 or more Thousand people in the world somewhere there guests wanted it to stay .....

@@Renstein45 absolutely a bad idea, can’t imagine the park without it. Brer Bear rolling around with the beehive on his nose is something that I remembered 25 years after riding this. Can’t imagine the new ride will captivate children the same way this did me, it’s not all about IPs

Gosh i don't think I'll ever get over it. I know change is good sometimes but not in every situation. Splash Mountain should have stayed.

The dust really is flying..lol The scale model shows cypress trees all around the front . I know they won't have to go far to get the Spanish moss to hang off the trees. Florida has plenty. Lol Tfs 4K.

i still wonder if the part of frontierland that tiana's bayou adventure is will have new orleans square theming similar to pirates of the caribbean at tokyo disneyland, which has new orleans square theming around the entrance while being in adventureland

I’m sitting here watching, backing up to rewatch segments, taking in the detials…THEN the Festival of Fantasy Parade fanfare started…and a BIG smile just came to my face…felt it happening...but no control…at least did. not want to control 😁. Thank you, 4K for these comprehensive updates!!! I love seeing how things work (does not ruin the magic for me at all…strong ability to "suspend disbelief”) and I am loving seeing he incremental transformation through what you capture!!

Everyone just needs to realize that WDW will always have construction going on; whether it’s at the parks, resorts, or downtown. They’re always going to be adding, taking down and updating attractions and resorts. And once everyone can realize that, everyone will understand it’s really not that bad. Now, I’ll be extremely happy when they remove the tomorrowland Speedway……… Wishful thinking

Here's the thing with that. Since 1967 WDW has had no one but themselves overseeing the multitude of construction projects on their property. Now here in present day, Disney has lost that power and now has to answer to the state building inspectors and the codes mandated by the state. Disney's ability to just change anything they want to now has been slowed down to the point that their new projects will likely crawl to a standstill. This includes all current demolition and construction. The state now has the ability to shut any attraction, building or heck, even the entire WDW resort until anything that doesn't meet code is fixed. Disney's status quo just went out the window...

👑I think you should have started with the FOF fanfare & made the many workers feel royal🤴🏻👷🏻‍♀ Of the daily rides done, did you film most to compilate something for yourself?? Evidently DL's Mtn's reliability is as problematic. Before Covid, I was intrigued with their "Magic Happens" parade music & with it's (2 day delayed) restart, a DL vlogger filming the parade has tried twice to ride to no avail. Hail & snow there, it would be like me being home. I've learned to go to Anaheim later lol. Thx keeping us posted 4🚧💜

Haha yea, it seems the workers always enjoy watching the parade when it comes! I do have a lot of Splash pics &footage that I’ll only keep for myself since it was with family. I did hear that it snowed in DL and I thought it wasn’t true lol. I’m sure it was cool for locals to experience, but as a visitor I wouldn’t like it at all lol. The weather is a big reason why I still haven’t booked a trip! I just wanna make sure it’s really warm when I go again. It’s my pleasure Liz, thank you as always for watching 😊

People are gonna be upset about it, but the minute they ride it- they’re gonna be in awe. I’m seriously hoping we get animatronics that are like the belle ride in Japan. It would really make this ride amazing

You don’t know that’s going to happen with animatronics. What if the scenes are all video then what? They replaced a fun ride with animatronics and put up a cheap version. Look at Runaway Railway compared to Great Movie Ride. New movies could have been added with new animatronics but no, it’s a video screen you’re watching. They can do the same with this bayou ride and it will just cheapen the experience. Is that what you all want? A glorified Six Flags? I don’t !

Uhm, don't get your hopes up. I'd expect they'll put a minimal amount of animatronics back into the ride, and just projections and lighting and fog effects. Disney is trying to do this as cheaply as possible. Animatronics=$$$$$!!! and to be blunt the last two lands they've done (Pandora and Galaxies Edge) have had literally very few. Pandora has a total of 2 or 3 and Galaxies Edge has only 6 or 7. (I'm not counting all of the stormtroopers because most of them are mannequins). So who knows what is the fate of all the ones that are gone now from the former Splash mountain...

@@runiedunie This is not an update. It’s a complete change from what was there. Secondly, nobody can be sure about animatronics until it’s actually open, and finally a year ago when you rode it they weren’t doing anything to fix things because they knew it was changing. The point is spending tens of millions on something that wasn’t needed.

Funny thing that Disney has done away with a ride that was based on a parable about slavery with a ride who's backstory is set in a place where actual slaves worked, died, and are buried. It's still just as, if not even moreso, racist as it was before. Disney, what are you doing? Imagine what is happening backstage in the show building?
