Splatoon 4: Sploosh Neo with Beakon and Killer Wail 10.2 (it spawns 12 tiny killer wails that deal 1 damage per second and Beakon now costs 99% of your ink tank)

If anyone asks me what has motivated me to want to advocate for custom kits for Splatoon 4. This is pretty much it. They could've brought back Point + Kraken for neo sploosh which wouldn't have been great but would be way more fun than what ended up getting. But instead out of 3 kits they could've brought back, they chose the worst possible option and I'm still pissed.

Honestly sploosh wasn't too bad in this game, the neo and 7 kits were solid, and s2 sploosh 7 was a RM meta weapon. Its not doing that bad.

@@ProChara Even still, the latter games definitely haven't gifted it its best tools quickly at all. It got insanely lucky that it even got Sploosh 7 in Splatoon 2, given that it was in the very last set of weapons to be added. And looks like it's waiting yet again for that splat bomb chance lol.

I do love how each Splatoon game has a very different vibe to their metas Splatoon 1 is a very fast paced meta with a bunch of one shots and invincibility specials Splatoon 2 was sort of a more team oriented meta, but sometimes went into a low-to-the-ground special spam defensive meta And then Splatoon three’s meta has you going between hyper aggression and defensive tanking

the fact that cherry h-3 was the best shooter and then the transition from s1 to s2 literally MURDERED the weapon, even when getting the “same” kit in s3 is actually WILD

H-3 actually saw quite a bit of use after it was buffed in S2 because of its kit with ink armour, Splatoon 3 is just a much faster game that H-3 needs buffs to fit into

I mained the Aerospray RG throughout my prime time of playing this game, I adored buzzing around the map and dropping Mines and Strikes like an absolute pest. It wasn't good at all, but it was so dang fun. I mained Vunder in Splatoon 2 because I missed the Mines... Shoutouts to the Dual Squelcher, who I tried out for the first time recently and shall now sorely miss. Dualie Squelchers in Splatoon 3 are pretty great replacements, though.

Mini truly is truly the personification of Icarus paying for Zimis crimes ever since and that with S2 Vimi being given burst Bomb Missiles yet still having seen barely any use outside of the 1 week in S2 before nintendo emergency patched it. Truly a fall from grace that it never recovered from compared to RB nowdays

Fun seeing this as I’ve been playing splatoon 1 again and I forgot just how different and fun this game is; the maps feel so rich and intricate,shot rng doesn’t feel that random and kits are weird in how they look with naming conventions I don’t remember seeing in 2 or 3 Idk what exactly it is but it feels so good to play overall

new squiffer is definitely weak but it's also doubly screwed considering that splat charger and liter can basically become a squiffer on command bc of damage up. even fresh squiffer's kraken wasn't unique considering custom liter existed. suction bomb was nice though

I loved the mini in this game, I didnt play zink but instead the custom. The ability to play aggressively and have an extra splat bomb/bomb rush to secure kills at lightning speed made it feel really good

My personal preference goes out to the Octobrush Nouveau. The inkzooka gives that needed range that could turn around the whole game sometimes. I just wish vanilla Inkbrush had burst bombs instead of sprinkler, it'd COMPLETELY change that weapon and might've even been my favorite (slap inkzooka on it too while we're at it :P ... yes i like inkzooka)

I think coro coro roller is being underrated here. It sounds bad on paper but I think in the context of the QR meta and light depletion it actually works better then reg splat roller and carbon deco which relay too hard on sharking to be useful imo. (rollers also have better painting range in this game and shooters in general have worse painting.)

I wish I had played this back in the day and I did have it but I also had 7 year old and 11 year old so it was busy times. Played some single player and that was about it. Five year later, I decided to give it a try and the disc wouldn't work. Not a single scratch or defect just wouldn't play on my Wii U and three others I tried. Mario 3D did the same thing. Fast forward to Dec 2022 when my 15year old daughter and myself got Splatoon 3, it is rare I don't get at least 1 game a day in because you gota get that first win bonus.

Seeing how many of these kits are that good makes me realize how fun it would have been if i played them back in the day with the knowledges i have right now. Unafortunatelly, that is not going to be the case anymore but god, if i did not suck at the game that moment, i would have tried so many weapons and doubled the fun knowing things like range was better and still with burst bomb... We can not regret right now. Just hope everything will be fixed with the time to be fun for everyone. Goodbye Splatoon 1, the game I became obsessed with and I never expected.

it's weird as a brush player going back and realizing...huh ink brush was bad wasn't it? i remember focusing really hard on how to play that weapon as a sharker and use sprinkler to bait people closer and ink strike to push backliners out. having inkbrush now be something i can just be so much faster and actually be the aggressor is nice.

Pretty sure Zink Mini was the last time I regularly played a meta weapon while it was meta. Don't know what it is about my taste in splatoon weapons but I almost always fall in love with the weapons that are somewhat lacking one way or another. Heck even at the end of my time with Splat 1 Rapid Rro was my favorite weapon so clearly I like to suffer.

The amount of CRB practice I have crammed in the past week in order to play in the last few S1 Tournaments has made me even more sad to lose this game. I hope Nintendo does us a solid and brings it back to S3 or even S4. I don't think I want to see a world where someone isn't able to enjoy the best blaster there ever was.

I ended up with like 3.5k hours in 1 by the time I had to sell my wiiU for a switch. I had a lot of bad things happen while specifically playing this game and tbh it's super important to me because it was kind of the only thing I was capable of doing while my life was falling apart. That being said, melodramatics aside I'm so sad about the state of the Zimi/Mini in 3 while other weapons that were good in that meta are still good now. Unpopular opinion: I prefer old mines to new just because the new mines struggle to splat; I loved rapid blaster in 1 but haven't really been able to use it all since then.
