There's something about making a much harder version of the first boss that intrigues me, I suppose when a first boss has a concept with so much potential, but is forced to live with the limitations of being a first boss, sometimes you just want to see a harder version of this first boss later on in the game to see this potential fully realized, like with Firey Dino Piranha from Super Mario Galaxy or Bonetail from Paper Mario TYYD.

I love how Chugga had so much trouble with the simplest parts of Squee-G Funk Station (for example, he could've used Splat Bombs on the Octosnipers in the second area), and yet he clears the hardest part at the end on his first try. LP curse at its finest.

The whole thing about the Redux bosses is probably the thing I disagree with the most, I love Octostomp and especially Octo Oven so much more that Samarai and Shower. Having beaten the bosses in Hero Mode with all Hero weapons, the much more harder and creative bosses stand out more to me rather than the special weapon bosses. Especially Octo Oven, the amount of chaos and defence the redux boss has is soooo good, It's a good challenge that wasn't present in the orginal fight.

@@reginlief1 Trust me, "looks" is an understatement. It's one of the most soul-crushing, boring, tedious fights in Splatoon. One stray wrong move, one mistimed explosion (and all of your attacks do MEAGRE damage), one failure to get out of the way, and suddenly you've been launched off the stage. It is so much worse than ANY of the weapon refights in Octo Canyon, and I'd call it the worst iteration of any boss in Splatoon 2 by far. And I say this as someone who's beaten Octo Shower with weapons like Slosher and Blaster.

Yeah, I don't know while Chuggaa is disappointed by them. The challenge they added through added mechanics like the bubbler Octostomp, Baller Vs Octo Samurai, Ink Jet Vs. Octo Shower, then the insanity that is Octo Oven with all the added enemies making the once easy fight a chaotic battle. Even if they are reused, the new additions add a lot of fun to the boss fights.

I agree. All the refights put enough of a fresh spin on the original fights to where you have to rethink how exactly you fight them, so I don't see the problem. I kinda wish the developers took even more inspiration from Kirby and made a souped up version of the final boss as well. The actual Octo Expansion final boss is great, but it feels weird that DJ Octavio is the only boss from the base game to not have a harder rematch, when that could've been really fun. It wouldn't make much sense from a story standpoint, but they could've made it an extra boss like Inner Agent 3 or something. I suppose a couple more original bosses would've been nice, but given that there's already so many original challenges in these stations, I can't complain too much.

IMO, the boss refights ALL do a great job at recontextualizing the fights enough to feel worth they're inclusion in Octo-Expansion. The Octo-Samurai, of course, limits your offensive options and reinforces what the Octo-Samurai in Octo-Valley tests the player on: Dodging and Punishing your opponent, just now with a significantly slower attack that you need to capitalize on a lot quicker. Same can be said on the other bosses. Octostamp DX? Finding your objective and using Splatoon's unique movement to get there, which gives you less time to react and complete said objective while making the traversal to reach said objective more complex. Octoshower? Keeping calm and properly lining your shots, now needing to lead your fire by trying to air-shot Octarians and where you get punished by trying to greedily shoot down multiple in quick sussession. Octo-Oven? Turf Control, which becomes harder in the rematch as the Oven gets FAR more coverage with the sprinklers, leaving your movement options far more limited.

The thing that kind of confuses me about the bosses in Octo Expansion is that they're just stages like the rest. There's four thangs and four Octoweapons, so you'd think they'd have the bosses guarding the thangs, but nope. You can just grab the thangs for free and the bosses are just...there. Also, you saying "Doesn't that just beat all"...I know you're probably just quoting Iso Padre (who you're doing a wonderful job at voice acting for, by the way), but that phrase also really reminds me of Rei from Breath of Fire III and for a moment I thought that was a hint. Guess a gal can dream.

I really like how some of the stages in this episode play off of keeping track of specials. The oven re-fight had a sting ray that makes the last phase so much more manageable (especially with the octo brush) since you don’t need to break those splash walls and can just hit the tentacle from below. Then doing the breaking crates stage with the charger had me stumped until I remembered the splashdown hit above you, and found that shooting straight down the middle and using it made that a lot more manageable too! Found both of those really satisfying to complete

The blaster is already more cumbersome and the Octobrush has such short reach that it can't even reach the Sprinklers you have to deal with from ground level. "I amaze myself sometimes" - Us, too. 27:25 Yeah, so... you're supposed to toss your bombs *over* the fence and not right in front of it, that's how you get the Squee-G to focus into one specific direction. (Because otherwise it'll start turning around as soon as it reaches its intended destination...) Same for the jump after this. But you got lucky and they ended up lining up from your Blaster shot. I suppose they do say luck's a part of skill, too. Looks like next episode is probably the final bunch of main levels. And after that... it's time for endgame. Anticipation is rising!

Getting close to the end, guys. I can only imagine the information that Emile will drop about Commander Tartar once all four THANGS are in the central nexus station. I totally understand then "get in quickly, get it done quickly" thing when going on rides. I have never been a thrill seeker, by force or by choice, and my acrophobia doesn't do any favors when it comes to riding anything that sends you climbing slowly to your doom (I'm talking about rollercoasters mostly, but swinging ships, flying sauces, and some intense guided simulation experiences are included here too.)

Our final boss remix! I'm excited to see what they do with this one. This was my favorite boss from the main game, so to see his remixed form is exciting. Seeing the fight now, this is chaotic. In regards to your roller coaster dream. If it helps, know that if the ride is going to be delayed for hours, they usually just let you know and shut down the ride until its fixed (probably the next day if it's that bad). At that point they will let everyone out to enjoy the other rides. It might help you to know next time you have that dream so you'll know one of Two things, either a) your in a dream and can relax, or b) you've been trapped in ProtonJons Rollercoaster Tycoon park as an act of revenge for all the times you've made Jon angry. Eitherway, you're in for a great time.
