Calling it Switch 2 might make this the beginning of a “PS2 > PS3 > PS4 etc” era. Think about it, there’s not much that Nintendo can do to leave this half console/half portable functionality… so now this might just be the foundation we iterate on (switch 2, 3, 4 etc)

Like, the Switch was a very good console, but Nintendo's ability to just be in its own realm and innovate was what made them special, and to think that they're just going to grow complacent and force us to shell out hundreds of dollars on a minimal upgrade is a horrible thought.

Eh, Nintendo is always experimenting with what their next hardware product might be like(their R&D Dept. is like a real Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory) and this isn't their first iterative design(NES/SNES, DS/3DS/2DS, Wii/Wii U, now Switch/Switch 2) so I'm sure they're not going to tie themselves to the Switch form factor forever.

I suspect Pokémon Legends ZA will be a launch day title for the Switch 2. So a specific date won't be announced on Pokémon Day 2025. We might get a quarter announcement though. The only issue with this is that previously Pokémon has avoided launching on a new console right away. But I think ZA not being a mainline game might push them towards a dual release like what was done for Breath of the Wild.

The Switch has been such a great system for me as a pilot. I travel lot and this is a console I have been able to take along with me everywhere I go. Being able to download games also saves me from having to go through customs too often. I'm gonna try and get my hands on this on release date.

MK 8 Deluxe is the #1 selling game on Switch, like twice as many units as Breath of the Wild, and it's a Wii U port from like 10 years ago. It was bundled with the used Wii U that I got years ago. I know we don't have any information about them now, so there's not much to go off of, but I feel like the rails the original joy cons used are going to be a much sturdier and reliable option than this The other thing I'm worried about is pricing. When the Joycons are disconnected those two buttons flanking the bumpers might act as triggers or bumpers, so when you're using one, you can have full controller function.

Aren’t those top/bottom buttons on the joy cons are actually the magnets that hold it in place. I know we can’t give too much credit to the leaks, but it makes a lot more sense that they would be magnets to give it an iconic click into place, rather than 2 awkward and difficult to press buttons.

I'm pretty excited for the Switch 2. I thought that they'd announce an announcement for this trailer instead, but dropping it while announcing a Nintendo Direct for April made more sense. I kind of miss the colors for the joy-cons being on the outside, but it does at least make it clearer that this is different from the Switch instead of another upgraded version. I thought that they'd tease a couple of more games, but a new Mario Kart would be a huge draw for the system. I've never played 1-2 Switch, but that whole bit was hilarious too. Hopefully we'll get something on Pokemon Day for Legends Z-A.

I 100% guarantee the "Certain switch games may not be compatible" line is PURELY for Labo and the like, or maybe that Mario Kart Home Circuit thing they tried, anything that requires switch accessories that the new switch wont work with, so possibly Ring Fit Adventure as well, but any normal switch game should function perfectly fine
