In Inkopolis, it sounds like a Radioactive wasteland whilst the Boss Salmonids are wreaking havoc. In Splatsville, it sounds a bit depressing, like silent hill vibes, as if the world is going to end or an apocalypse is underway. This is a really cool game mode from Splatoon 3, can't wait for the next Big Run.

As players, we only see the "That's a wrap!" screen, but I'd like to imagine he gets pretty mad in the moment. "That's a pay cut if I've ever seen one. This is basically a war. Grizzco helicopters sending groups of inklings to fight back in different places, you can hear scared inklings in some maps, hiding in the buildings. Honestly I'd love to see fan work that depicts this like a war movie

This is genuinely really unsettling, as the plaza or city area is supposed to be the safe haven and resting place between gameplay and multiplayer elements, but the idea of those salmonoid from salmon run advancing into the city where you’d never anticipate them to be and the idea of big run as a whole is one of the most creative and kind of terrifying things Nintendo has ever experimented with, you can hear boss salmonoid alerts, boss sounds and even cohozuna, splatoon has officially outdone themselves and won the award for best world building elements.

Now that I look back at it, in the lore the salmonids are getting closer to Splatsville. Maybe the reason we can hear them only in the plaza is because they are slowly getting closer to the Main hub area. And I have a feeling that the bigrun for September will be taking place in the middle of grand festival and the map we are going to battle on could be the whole splatsville hub.

I think the ambiance in splatsville being so meh is because none of the big runs have actually been in splatsville yet, hence also why you can here fighting in inkopolis. However the new one at undertow IS in splatsville, so maybe we could get a more intense ambiance this time

Honestly I'm curious. Switch limitations prevent this obviously, but I'm curious on how the devs explain how different teams deal with the salmonoids all at the same location, yet only 4 Inklings/Octolings or less are shown. Perhaps different zones of the area are attended to? And what about King Salmonoids? Are there multiple of them or as soon as they retreat or are splatted they go after another team? This also applies to other game modes too. If plenty of people play Turf and there's only 2 stages they can access, do they like play on different areas that are split up between various battles? Maybe I'm thinking too much about this but I'm pretty curious on what the explanation on how all this works.
